| He has already written one in which the main suspect was called Peter Box (The darkness around her) .I guess there are plenty of other characters involved in the ongoing fiasco who could lend their names to a "fictional" literary work !

Stop being truculent, of course, I'd like that to happen, so why don't you go and make it happen? Then if you do then let me know and I'll buy you a pint but remember I'm 58 and you look even older and the average life expectancy for a British male is not that long.

To answer your point Snowie, for the police to investigate, a complaint has to be made to them . I often wandered why WMDC remained virtually silent in the whole affair? Surely they would have been the ones to complain if public funds were missing, and unaccounted for?
=#FF0000A police investigation may well have shown a genuine reason for the funds being withdrawn, but as it was public money there should surely have been an audit trail as to where it went and why?
Anyway it's political muckraking from the past, and hopefully better times ahead for us as we move on.'"

Seriously, have a go see how far it gets you. Ask TRB, he spent 10 years fighting them and although he and his supporters managed at least one great victory it didn’t stop the other side getting what they wanted in the end. He tried but they just have to much muscle.
I’m not saying it was all pointless they are certainly directly responsible imo for the offer we have now and should it go through they will have most definitely helped save the day all be it a much reduced scheme. However bringing those to account for a huge con, not a chance.
Like it or not the worst thing we can do now is dredge up the past , justified it may be but it won’t help anybody.
We now have the Council and YC in our sights again and we need to move forward and salvage what we can.
The other side have got away with financial murder, let’s not let them become serial killers. Like it or not we need these people, tragic but there you go.
I might sound mercenary but if I honestly believed the Tories were doing this to put right an injustice I’d then have to think very hard. However they are clearly just trying to score very cheap political points. They are no better than Box or Walker or any of them.
I fully get what you say and I understand your frustration, I can assure you that where we are now is most certainly not what I envisage when I co founded SWAG in 2004. To say what is being offered now is diluted would be a huge understatement but we are where we are. The world is a crap place for decent people.

Unfortunately the fact we're getting any sort of a deal is a bonus, I really thought we would end up with nothing (who knows we may still do). This Thursday will se if the decide to show a bit morality or wriggle.

This.
I actually believe that once the new East Stand and the fully re-vamped North stand along with whatever else may be planned ![Wink icon_wink.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_wink.gif) are done, the new BV will actually suit the vast majority of Trinity fans than NM ever would have. It will also be finally decent enough to attract new fans, assuming the team ever start to play again.
That by the way is not excusing what has happened, that is a scandal of huge proportions. All the same, IF it happens then it is indeed a bonus because I thought all was lost.
The tragedy is that right until the last minute our future will be in the hands of a man I wouldn't trust to clean my windows. Oh well ![Sad icon_sad.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_sad.gif)

Too much time on my hands, had a look through the documents that go before the planning meeting this week for the company I believe is to provide funding for the BV redevelopment.
I came across this paragraph on page 44.
A separate full planning application was received in December 2020 for the construction of 3 additional warehouses on plot 8 ~ which is the plot approved for the construction of the community stadium to the West of Newcold on land which was retained within the Green belt. A current application has been submitted for improvement works to the existing Rugby league Stadium at Belle Vue, which the plot 8 applicant proposes to cross - subsidise the delivery of as the basis for their Green Belt Very Special Circumstance case. Neither of these applications are linked to the plot 4 Application with which this report is concerned and will be assessed and determined separately. There is no linkage between plot 4 and the delivery of the Community Stadium.
So, I’m still not sure if this application is the one we should be supporting. Why am I still feeling uneasy about the situation?

I'll be honest planning is not my thing, I'll try and find out but it may be a while. I have a direct line to MC now but I'm not that important and I don't want to push it so bear with me.
You are right to be uneasy we are in an area fraught with issues in an era where anything can go wrong. All I know is logistics are a huge growth area and the profits from developing NM to its full potential makes the monies offset for BV small change and well worth the cost.
I don't know exactly how it works but although we can't actually stop it long term, we can make it incredibly time-consuming and expensive for them, hence the BV money is. a worthwhile investment. Also with Henry Boot now on board the level of respectability has increased several notches.
Fingers crossed that at last justice is at least partially done.

| typical poor wakefield express headline. plot 4 is part of the original warehouse scheme- not the land earmarked for where the stadium was going to be. That is plot 8!! so therefore its the next application that needs support. The plot 4 ship sailed many moons ago, and a few people got very rich using Trinity as a trojan horse

A huge new warehouse to be built on former greenbelt land on Wakefield's northern edge has been given planning permission.

Just looking through the WE report, this paragraph took my eye.
The warehouse will be built on land which was allocated for employment when planning permission was given for a new community stadium on Newmarket Lane in 2012.
That development, which would have seen Wakefield Trinity relocate from Belle Vue to the stadium, never came to fruition however.
My concern is this, the land in question is I believe plot 4, my understanding is that plot 8 is the development that releases stadium funding, if plot 8 is eventually given planning permission. Therefore, how did the original site for community stadium become dependent on plot 8, when plot 4 is now up and running for development, before our stadium funding has been secured? ![Rolling Eyes icon_rolleyes.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_rolleyes.gif)

Initially I was very positive about this re-development. As time is flying by and the bulk source of funding (I would imagine) have now got the planning they desire I’m becoming increasingly apprehensive that this development will happen. I may add that while we are waiting on planning the somewhat larger development seems to have been pushed and flown through at pace.
I hope I’m completely wrong but if this doesn’t happen now then it never will and I’m sure the long term future of Wakefield trinity will be bleak to put it mildly.
