mini season like before super league

would look forward to it .. little un playing under 11 at the mo even though under 10 and loving it but due to playing football training is difficult to split .. just hope that as they get older there aren't too many injuries because of the hard under watered grounds..

im sure OV will fill ya in on all the details but a big round to the rangers and crigg on producing an excellent group match and a fabulous final .

Thanks for that Mutley - took our fellas a bit of time to get going and were well beaten by Stanley in the 1st game , played far better defensively in the final , but overall Stanley definately deserved the trophy at the end of the night .My only grumble would be that i thought every player should of received a trophy or medal for taking part and not just the winners (non competitive age group etc.etc.) , however my Jack doesn't seem too distraught about not getting owt , just happy to play on the hallowed turf !!
Well done to all .

p.s. new fixtures out - Oulton in group 3 ! what's that all about ? they were the only team to beat Crigg pre- xmas !

Poor really from the club - i'm sure 1 parent used to get in for nowt too apart from the players ..... had a good chuckle about the Eastmoor comment though

to hear our stephen talk they had won the CC but tbf its the first trophy they have ever played for and they took it against his old club crigglestone to make things better in the same week they went to cas lock and won ....happy days for the ferry laners

I would like to congratulate everyone at the Cats, especially Richard Cattley who puts a lot of effort into organising these 'events' that give the kids a great opportunity to play on the 'hallowed turf'. I thought it was an excellent display of rugby at under 10's level, most noteably from Crigg and ourselves. I wasn't even aware we we're playing for a trophy until we got there, but even though I knew only the winners would receive a trophy I was still happy for my boys to take part. (I do believe that the idea of a winning trophy/trophy's was the sponsor's idea, not the clubs). I will probably get shot down in flames, but at some point you have to start instilling a winning mentallity into your players, I believe we take the 'just taking part' card a little too far, and it was the thought of actually winning something that spurred my team on so much.

Is 10's too young? I don't know, but i do know that my boys play to win, and I don't have to preach that to them

there should be a winning mentality, how do get them to keep going week after week,

stanley rangers U12s have two games left in the league, dudley hill which is this sat away and east leeds away on a weds night two wins and that will guarantee the league,

we also have two cup finals one which we don't have the date for but is at crofton in the wakey cup to crigg and the other is at the fev ground on the 3th of may v hunslet parkside, it would be nice if we could get some support

good post but its the taking part that really counts

UP THE RANGERS

I expect we might find the hunslet game very hard there's a lad call JJ and he is the try scoring machine give to him and he runs round the lads, not any more going to muscle up on him and we now have two speedy players to counter act, this will be a peach of a game

cracking second half performance by the Stanley Rangers U12s gain them the spoils over Dudley Hill winning 26 -8, both sides are worthy of joining the first Division next season.

we are just waiting the result from Normy knights to see our position with the league,



normy won 18 -12 so we have to win at East Leeds on the 21st to will out right

My lad is 10 (11 in July) and wants to start training. We live in Ossett so Shaw Cross is, I think, our closest local team; his age group trains on a Friday night though and I can't get him there on a regular basis on Friday's due to other commitments.

Anyone know other local clubs that train mid-week?

Nice one, cheers; Stanley does look good, although I'm not sure what he'll make of the pink strip!
