| Pretty happy with Aiton Wood and Wildie - with the right coaching and more game time at SL level, the latter could very well be the next former?
Good luck to the lads moving on - thanks for your service in the R,W&B.

This makes it sound as though Wildie will feature much more next year.
Dale Morton and Russ Spiers also left the club'"
Reaaly do feel that Ellis is a much better allround hooker than Wood and a better foil for Aiton, but Iwait to see hoew the strengtherning goes before bellyaching too much.
Shame about Spiers, thought a couple of years ago he would develop into a good prop, never really happened for him. I guess Lillycrop will take his spot. Morton just isn't superleague level i'm afraid.
We are certainly clearing some salary cap space with Motu Tony, Kieran Hyde and probably James Davey coming off as well. Be interesting to see who it is getting spent on. Quality over quantity by the looks next year.

I've got to disagree with that. For me Aiton is one of the best hookers in Super League.

| Aiton is an incredible player, not seen anyone hit players like he does since Gaz Ellis in 2004. The mans a beast, the way he paggered Sam Tomkins then Lauiaki at belle view was worth the admission alone.

| No pleasing WTW fans. This time last year we had naff all, Aiton is a brilliant 9 & now we're weeping over the loss of Ellis.
Ellis is ok in my book, did a job when Paul was injured, but I'd be far more upset if the talk of Aiton retiring came to fruition!
Says a lot about Ellis's ambition.

Very true, we managed to cobble together a team from nothing. To be honest, with what Agar has done with the team so far, I trust his judgement on this one. Grand scheme of things and all that.

| Gutted at losing Ellis, would much rather he started 9 and Aiton provided the impact off the bench. He is a great distributor and tackler in the middle of the park and did an outstanding job for us. Don't understand what Agar is thinking here, Ellis played well and had the shirt, should have been wood to go I'm afraid. I think there's a lot to be said by the fact that when he left the pitch after 25-30 mins at Headingley the Rhinos had scored 0 and not looked overly threatening!

Yet it was Sykes who fell off the tackle of Watkins resulting in Rhinos try - Ellis being on the field would have changed that how?

| There is also the rumoured capture of Scott Murrell who although not his natural position has operated at hooker for HKR in the past.
Not overly happy about Ellis going, but it all depends on what comes in. If the overall squad at the start of next season is all the better for it then so be it. Who are we to doubt RA after his achievements so far?

| Is Paul Aiton a hooker?
Tackle machine - deffo
Quick and reliable ball distribution - ????
Maybe Wood is more effective 30 minutes into a game when Paul Aiton has softened them up, which is why RA is keeping Wood over Ellis.
Did Aiton and Ellis ever play together?????

| So we get rid of Andy Ellis so a youngster can have more game time in Matty Wildie and people are upset? Aiton is a superb Hooker and Andy Ellis had a small impact on us when he came in the 7 game winning streak is not down to him its down to the team hitting the next level. Personally id rather have Aiton at Hooker with either Wood or Wildie off the bench.... I feel sorry for Rich he gets rid of a player so a youngster has more of a chance and most of you are upset probably the same people who would be upset if he didnt give the youngsters a pathway to the first team! the poor guy just cant win!

. I think people are confused as to why we are letting Ellis go- the guys quality in different ways to Aiton, I think Ellis is a good old fashioned hooker, great passing from the PTB great go forward and solid in defence - aitons a tackling machine - his supply from dummy half isn't as good as Ellis and neither is his attacking flair from dummy half. If Ellis doesn't fit into agars plan for next season then so be it - I will back his decisions- however it still doesn't take away the fact hes top quality and has made an impact since coming into the side

| If Wildie gets a chance next season then great, but when the second best hooker at the club struggled to get in the side then I don't see how Wildie will manage it, unless Wood is going to play more in the halves next year.

Maybe he wants the opportunity to actually win trophies and medals, which, lets face it he wont at any lower end SL teams (no disrespect).
SL is proving that it is not the be all and end all, there is a very strong and competitive competition in the CC or cant you be bothered to check that out?
Welcome on board Andy I am looking forward to your creativity in our (already) outstanding "lower league, table topping (3 years on the bounce), Grand final appearing (3 years on the bounce)" team.

It's a fair point. Playing with an up and coming side that is winning things can be more enjoyable than playing at the big show. He is going to be helping develop players, he may actually be getting more money but he'll certaining get more game time which is important.
Personally I'd rather play a whole game with Fev than occassional half games with Trinity, but then I am older. When I was younger I would have made the opposite decision to see how far I could go.
Maybe Ellis is looking at it the same way. He's only 27 but we all view life differently.
Good luck to him.

No.
People are upset that we're losing Ellis.
People are also upset that we might lose Wildie but keep Wood. Two seperate issues.
Add to this the possibility that we might get either of the two chubbies Murrell or McShane.
A series of backward steps.
