| Quote ="Wollo-Wollo-Wollo-Wayoo"No need talk about team sheets and substitutions when players can't even play the chuffin ball! 12 Nil up with about 5 minutes to half time and Mr T (Tea pot anybody?) then Cockayne (who does it at least once every game) gift Bradford a set of six that both lead to scores.
Then 2nd half it's Raleigh's turn to help the Bulls at every opportunity.
Difficult to pick a man of the match for us but I thought probably Poore who was the only forward who didn't look like a Rag Doll.'"
I'm going to start doing a post-match player by player short analysis, for the hell of it. Here is my thoughts after Bradford:
James Child - 5/10 Moving off mark against cockayne, maybe so but we should have had a penalty the play-the-ball before that for our player being dragged back about 3 seconds after the tackle had been completed. They scored in the subsequent set. After Tim Smith broke the line, there was what can only be called a "professional foul" via holding down on Kirmond (who was rightly furious) and he didn't give it. I'm sick of referees giving penalties in fits and spurts to teams. It's like they think "oh, i've given wakefield 3 penalties in a row, i'll now give bradford 3 penalties". Is it a coincidence so many games end up with an almost even penalty count? I think it's definitely psychological. There are obviously exceptions to the rule. Anyway, enough about that frustration.
Richie Mathers - 6/10 - Didn't do much in attack but was solid when called upon in defence and I can't blame him for any of their tries. Mr. Consistent recently and I was a critic at the start of the season.
Peter Fox - 6/10 - Didn't get as involved as usual today, has a knack of letting the ball bounce from kicks, decent finisher and got a bit of pace but we're always going to leak points from errors whilst he plays. Had an alright game today.
Ben Cockayne - 6/10 - Had good go-forward, was unlucky with the penalty call by Childs I felt, needs to re-discover his try scoring touch.
Reece Lyne - 7/10 - Good line-break and run for his try, tackled decently enough, got himself involved. Not a fan of his at all but if he played like that every week I'd have no complaints. Kicked ball dead at the end but didn't have any options.
Danny Cowling - 6/10 - Jury still out. A couple of missed tackles but that was down to inexperience. An assist for Fox's try with composure. Difficult to tell whether he'll be one for the future based on this game alone.
Lee Smith - 8/10 - Thought we kicked particularly well today which is unlike us and ironic seeing as though we didn't win and we've won when we've kicked far worse. Good try and always looked to be direct. Worked hard. Again, someone I have previously criticised for not showing much in attack but i'm happy to be wrong!
Tim Smith - 6/10 - 2 tries were created directly from his passes and clever play. Kicking was also very good as with L. Smith. My only criticisms is he needs to take the line on more - when he did at the end he broke through... Would have given him a 7/10 or better but he's embarrassingly weak in defence. It's become more obvious in the last few weeks.
Danny Washbrook - 4/10 - I'm not going to slate any player wearing a trin shirt but I just don't know what he offers us? Does he have any strong attributes? Last season, his tackling was his top attribute, this season he just seems to be a player that the game passes by. He has no pace, no offloading ability, line-breaking ability or creativity. Summed up: He doesn't do anything particularly noteworthy. Not saying he doesn't try or anything.
Kyle Amor - 7/10 - Ran the ball in hard again and is becoming more competent at getting a decent offload out every now and then. Can't fault him really.
Justin Poore - 7/10 - Same as Amor but plays it more simple. Doesn't take a backwards step, which is just what you need against a big pack.
Paul Aiton - 7/10 - Same as Mathers. Mr consistent. Know what you're going to get most games. Tackled hard, ran harder. Not much end-product today.
Danny Kirmond - 6/10 - Not one of Danny's best games. Thought Bradford did well to stifle him but whenever he got the ball there seemed to be no runners off it and it made things easy for Bradford.
Frankie Mariano - 8/10 - Our best player alongside Lee Smith. Scored a try, ran the ball in hard, didn't do much wrong in defence. Not going to harp on about him going to Cas but still don't understand how others can brush off his impact on games week in, week out.
Andy Raleigh - 5/10 - Gave a crucial penalty away for holding down, missed a few tackles. Looks weak in the collision and generally lightweight. Made a point to watch him today (after Vastman's "immense" comments after Leeds). Wilkes would have been a better option on recent form and I feel for the lad.
Kyle Trout - Not enough time on the pitch to judge.
Tautai - 6/10 - Ran the ball in hard, made one error and kicked the ball into touch on a play we probably wouldn't have scored off anyway. If he cuts out the rush of blood to the head he will be a good player. Looks like he is trying too hard at times. Tackles well.
Lauititi - 6/10 - A bit anonymous on the ball today. Caused little problems but didn't throw away possession like he can. Summed up the team performance. Wasn't horrendous but far too average for a team like ours to be performing on the whole if we want the points.
Adam_Harrison9 - 1/10 - wasted 15 minutes writing crap on a forum. some horrendous one-eyed opinions and didn't chant at the game.
refreshments bar - 0.5/10 - ran out of cider

Ex winger thought he has some pace to finish them off?
We are clueless and have no back up plan to our first choice 17. Wilkes must be injured no way should Trout be on the bench ahead of him?
Real disappointment we'll be lucky to finish tenth, the amount of errors/knock ons was embarrassing.
Start and test younger players like Walshaw, Kay and Cowling more now. Nothing to lose.
Sell Washbrook, keep Wilkes and Lee Smith!

| Think our forwards were ok. Certainly better than the scores you put down. Kirmond is obviously not right as he would have finished those half chances 6 weeks ago. Right hand side defence was a disgrace. With Kirmond off Mariano got exposed. I think we'll miss him in attack next year, but It's ok going forward with gusto, but if people breeze past you what's the point? Nice change to have Fox be the only one not to knock on. Some big hits from Amor raleigh and poore to get a few dropped balls. Think big T will be very effective when we work out how to play him and always back him up as he is a compulsive offloader. They beat us in the centres and wings, not down the middle.

| I think Big Ali needs to put his arm round Tautai and say, "listen son, you're not me." He runs hard, is difficult to stop and defends well - I just think he's trying too hard.
No real complaints about our forwards today - they did well, barring a few errors; our problems were due to a lack of creativity and some woeful edge defence; Foxy is done, Ben is off form, Cowling was exploited and when Mariano went to centre, he undid all his good work going forward by being lazy in defence.

Ive had two people tell me, on different occasions, that he's cas bound. Theres a bit of a Leeds old boys reunion going on with Darryl Powell and theres a few ex, and soon to be ex, leeds players who are apparently cas bound because they want to play for Powell.

And you were talking ballcocks then as well. Obviously you were not at any game this season let alone this match. He has never been a massive breaker of tacked since moving to prop, we do benefit from quick ish ptb though. We are defensively better when he is on the pitch, I'm pretty sure he made 3 tackles than caused them to drop the ball, and he knocked on once, 9 out of 10 times?? You have lost any credibility you may have had.

We'll just ignore the way he gets dominated in the collision, missed 2 tackles that I at least saw and gave away a penalty for holding down when we had them in their half. Getting the odd quick ptb and completing a few other tackles (he's a rugby player, it's the minimum you expect), doesn't gloss over the fact he has been one of the weakest in the pack this season.

Well he's got the physical attributes so i hope he comes good, but for me we need more from a quota player than we are getting so far. We could have got a prop from the championship to do what he has up to press and used the quota spot on a more pivotal position.

I must have been watching a different game, other than his ludicrous kick and knock on, I thought he went well in both attack and defence. Drags in all kinds of defenders and with a decent offload game, I think he could be a real asset.
Agree that he does need to calm down a little though.

| Utterly teed off with that display. Wakey threw it away after leading 12-0 and then 18-10. Just cannot believe they've thrown a season's work away like that.
Making it worse was the fact I had 6/6 on a SL accumulator and just needed Trinity to win to go right through the card and collect decent winnings. I watched the second-half in dismay.
And what's Matty Wildie done wrong ? He might have supported some of the breaks that weren't converted.

I agree, thought Tautai played well. I don't expect a player to go 80 mins without one error. It's the ones who make several howlers a game and keep on losing us games that bother me

I think not. 2 seasons in now and there is no sign of any meaningful or lasting change. The end of last year was sadly a flash in the pan. Same patterns, same errors, same stupid selection and bench interchange choices...we were warned

| For years we have signed Australians who come here with big reputations- and these guys don't perform. Are you seriously telling me that there isn't an English prop or second row able to do the same job as some of the Trinity imports? They take the money, then collapse into the first tackle and never break the line.
What's the problem- is flair coached out of these players?
Don't make me laugh, I'm too fed up from today's game to even raise an ironic smile. It's utterly dire, Lee Smith's try was excellent and that was the highlight of my otherwise rubbish afternoon.
Pass me the absinthe and a razor.
