PONNER seems to reckon Trinity wanted 140k for Brough, if true it's not surprising Hudds balked at that. Still if there is no desperation to sell then Trinity can ask for whatever they want.

unless the deal is off I dont think Danny should play at the weekend. We need to get used to playing without him and why not start now against a lesser team (no disrespect to Salford) and also I'm sure his week and training will have been heavily disrupted by the thought of the £££££'s. Having said that whatever JK decides is fine with me, I guess it depends on Jeffries' fitness.

and in my opinion only, I wouldn't be suprised if the deal was done last year and Huddersfield used DB financial problems to exploit the situation.

It does all seem a bit fishy that rumours have been around so long. I can't remember who or where, but I was told around the end of last season that he'd already agreed with them.

Surely he could sign for us if he wished. If he has signed a contract with Huddersfield what can they do, the contract is not worth the paper its written on because it was signed when he still was under contract therfore if Huddersfield were to bring up the matter it would confirm that they had made an illegal approach and who knows maybe an illegal payment,

All hypothetical of course because Clubs don't make illegal approaches do they - well only us.

Exactly what i have been lead to believe.

What we should do IMO is let DB discuss terms with who ever he wants, on the basis he honors his contract with us, that way he/his agent can start the bidding war they want in order to get the big pay day they need, we have time to search for the replacement we want and other clubs wont upset their own dressing rooms by pushing players into transfers they don't want.

Everybody wins.
