I think we could all think of an error that has benefitted us and gone against us by players and referees. The Bradford cup game for example or our interception try by Kelly at Hull in the last minute. With regards Grix it was generally considered he contributed more to the team than hurt it. It is sad that a full back is much like a goal keeper all their errors usually results in a try or a goal.

I’ll qualify what I meant, he’s a bit soft for a lad who looks like a monster. I agree though, compared to Pauli he’s Ronnie rock.

It’s not that I think he’s a bad player I just think he’s a touch over rated. In fact he’s the exact opposite of Battye. Battye doesn’t look right but is, Tanginoa looks dead right but for me doesn’t quite deliver.

Given time Jowitt Has a good chance of making it. The opinions of touch line international coaches like you and me will remain as irrelevant as ever. It’s what the player does that matters.

Max has only and will only feature in our squad in times of need, where we’re struggling in an injury struck position. What does that tell you?

I don’t know why Chester gave him a lengthy contract only to have him as back up but Max clearly isn’t in his plans going forward.

IMRO - Jowitt isn’t up to the SL speed like Johnstone, Crowther and Batch. Once everyone is back and we’re hopefully injury free I’d get him out on loan in the championship and see how he gets on, if he can get some game time and prove me wrong then happy days, if not it’s another Chris Annakin situation, never really good enough despite trying.

Jowitt was starved of 1st team footy once Grix was allowed back. Nothing can replace 1st team action. We will never know how his game would have progressed with a 2nd consecutive season as 1st choice fullback.

I agree. Max has been totally underused since Scott Grix. He would have made fullback his own. After all he won the Rookie of the Year a few years ago. He doesnt appear to have the confidence of the coaching staff.

Excellent achievement to be noticed, especially by the entire RL community but I'm sorry this one achievement should not and does not solidify his place at fullback. Two head coaches, numerous assistants and he still hasn't been given the number one shirt. It's not one person who holds this opinion on Max and these are opinions of people who watch him daily in training and analyse hours of match footage.

Max should hold on to that achievement and be proud of it, similar to how TJ can say he's represented his country and scored a hat-trick on debut and Batch toured PNG with the performance squad.

3 head coaches - two of which he was under 19 so he was hardly going to play week in week out then. I would say his treatment has been quite shabby but he’s only 22. So plenty of time for him yet.

And yet despite that opinion on Max, you still think that Hampshire is the real deal given that several coaches at other teams have not regarded him as such and not picked him regularly in any one position.
