Johnstone is 28 I think and will be only 29 next year. Those should probably be his best years over next few. The guy was joint top scorer in SL and got back in the international set up and played well. What exactly do you think he’s lost?

Or something than just came out of Carters mouth. Perhaps like a few others that have left or wouldn't sign, it is because the real truth was they were made derisory offers.

I liked Kershaw but being realistic he wasn't in tbe TJ class and he's gone.
I can see the sense in signing Olpherts - he's a big bloke and frankly I think wingers now need a bit of size about them when returning the ball.
Franco and Walmsley made no headway at all at Fev, and were many times pushed back.
I think he'll go well under DP

As far as I can recall, Kershaw spoke to the new team after the take over was complete and expected an offer but one didn't materialise. Maybe his agent got in the way?

Nothing to do with Carter. Ellis and Powell were talking to Kershaw. Powell said that in interview.

Mr Carter will all ways get the blame for everything . Thought some one would have blamed him for the carpet in the Hospitality .Think it is about time some of these so called fans went in the East Stand it is a credit to the hard work that M C ,J M and a few others did .And do not think that it will be a walk back in to the S L .at present as last year it is the forwards carrying the backs and it needs sorting

That is not what he said and I’ve read a number of his interviews.

Your post initially was to suggest that Kershaw wanted to stay in SL. This was in response to a poster saying trinity had let him go suggesting that wasn’t the case. That’s not the same as preferring to be in superleague which any player would. You’ve clearly taken it out of context and decided he only wanted to play SL.

The Biffs Back was right according to the interviews and what’s reported in media and Kershaw interview. He wanted to help trinity back into SL but the offer wasn’t there.

Anyway, this is a thread about Olpherts
Kershaw is not our player.

I haven’t actually seen much of Olpherts play but from what little I have he seems to run it in well and strong.

Not sure if he will get the nod this week but if he does will be interesting to see how he goes.

Barring the missed tackle that led to Bulls first try, I thought Olpherts went pretty well TBH...better than I expected

I agree, made a lot of yardage with some strong carries. If he makes carries like that and gets on the end of some try’s then he will be well liked.

The right edge of Croft and Olpherts looked more potent in yardage and certainly something to build on there.

TBF, it was just after Griffin went off and that led to a bit of a change.....
So I'll forgive him for that.......
