Talented player, but never quite hit the levels he seemed capable of. I don't think we helped by playing him at scrum half, in my opinion he was a 9 all day long. Maybe a little harsh as he wasn't a bad player, but felt that he was close to being a different level but never quite kicked on.

I think it's actually the other way round.
He started at 7 and scored a try every game until we moved him to hooker.
Good to have his distribution but I think we would have seen more from him at 7. A bit like Lino in playing style.

Agreed, a natural scrum half IMHO.

It seems to be a default setting amongst some fans that if you're not up there with Cooper Cronk then you are a number 9. Not so, Pita was definitely not Cronk but he was handy and more than adequate at SL level.

He was class for us.

On that, I've previously thought that Lino would be more suited to playing at 9 as he's not the organiser we were led to believe he was. But apparently he refused to play there according to Poching. I know Lino has a fair few fans, but I've been quite underwhelmed to be honest.

Big change to play at hooker. You need to build up your bulk/strength as you take a battering in the middle.
I can see why he wants to remain a 7.
You can switch, but you can't easily keep switching.

Did Matt Peterson come over with a big rep for you lot? Remember him being pretty rank.

He wasn't brought to Trinity to play at 9.

Both were tosh.... Goulding only turned up when he played Alfie Langer off the park at Wilderspool.

That said, neither of them were getting paid so I suppose they could be excused for being disappointing.

He certainly made a difficult task even harder. Some poor goalkicking didn't help either.

Someone has already mentioned Aaron Whitaker but he wasn't bad and better than David Bailey and Robert Piva.

Brad Drew for me seems to come to mind, don't think we got any way near his best out of him.

That is a really good shout. He wasn't awful for us but he was never the player who used to tear us a new one when he playey against us.

That was just an age and injury thing.
And the fact our team wasn't as good as the Giants team he played in.

Not sure I agree with the quality of team he played in argument. He played for us for 2 seasons, 2008 and 2009. In 2008 we finished 8th which was 2 places above Huddersfield, in 2009 we finished 5th which was 2 places below Huddersfield so I think we were on a similar level.

But he played for Giants 2005 to 2007.
They had internationals in their team. Got to Wembley and made the playoffs

Wasn't there rumoured to be a clash of personalities between Drew and Brough?

BD was in competition with Obst at hooker and Brough at jhalf back so didn't get a very consistent run. Both Sam and Danny were at their peak during Brad's tenure.
