As im involved with u11's how does it work with the cups, do you get entered automatically or do you have to apply. Question relates to both yorkshire and barla.Ta

just found out that east leeds have beaten cas panthers in the 12s , not really a shock i suppose they seem to go from strength to strength since craig beat them on day one .

Crigg had to be at their best to beat Oulton from Div 2 , they may be the bottom team of the challenge cup but from all accounts (not at this 1) they had the biggest hearts. This goes to show you must respect your opposition and its not your right to win . i take my hat of to both Oulton and Easts who i think some thought might of been a easy meal ticket.

Lets hope the panthers can kick on from here and concentrate on league

and with Lock Lane getting a win away at Eastmoor scoring in the sacond half of extra time following 14-14 at full time, the U12's challenge cup semi final line up is as follows

Crigglestone V Stanningley
East Leeds V Lock Lane

hats off again to moor who sound like they pushed lock lane all the way and bounced backed after last week . like i mentioned they were not as big a push over as the score may of suggested

i saw two great games at the u12s this weekend firstly watching eastmoor unluckily go out to locklane in extra time i really felt for the lad that missed the coversion to win the game at the end of normal time and it really was that tight of a game where it could have gone either way.

secondly we travelled to south leeds stadium to play east leeds,has to be said east leeds played the best ive ever seen them play and again it looked all set for extra time before easts scored with 3 minutes to play to go 14-10 up that knocked the stuffing out of us and they scored again on the final whistle.again the game could have gone either way and there`s no shame in going out when you play well and give your all.east leeds will be tough to beat next week but im sure lane will re-group in the coming weeks and soon be a force again.


no secrets regards who the new signing is but i think the lad might well be cup tied in this competion

the yorkshire junior cups you will be automatically entered but the barla you after pay £50 to enter a team,you need to get in touch with barla has i know some of the leeds teams forgot to enter last year.

they beat wade deacon "widnes" 26-0 with a fantastic performance from 1-17 they tackled like demons.

Thanks for The comments guys it's not sunk in just yet,we play Howard and effingham from London who had 1or 2 big lads but nothing like the skill of ours.winning at wembley would just be the cherry on the cake.

i know i get accused of being condescending etc so i really hope you don't take it like this mate , but after the unlucky year your lot have had and lane etc along with i suppose garforth etc etc i feel so very very excited for both the players and you rob as a person.

since i my lad was 6 you have shown the same commitment for the boys and the whole town of castleford as a whole in its development in rugby league , and Sir i take my hat off to you.

i lot of the achievement is down to you and your team along with the lockers round the corner .

your excitement knows no boundaries and you have never lead your lads into a game thinking your going to lose.

i'm sure everyone who writes regularly on this thread will be shouting at the top of theirs voices for your lads on the day .

you must be a very very proud dad rob , im very humbled to of discussed the game with you and stephen is to of played up against the lads who will be striding the hallowed turf .

was a little surprised to see the little fella but i'm sure he will fight for a place , got a feeling will get accused of power super duper squad building but our young as been there well over a year and this is only the 2nd player since .

i'm very glad craig avoid east leeds in cup , always thought a potential banana skin and what with craig giving them a thumping , i think they will be out for revenge

i certainly am a very proud dad/coach and watching not only my son but young lads ive coached some of them from the age of 5 run out at wembley will be without doubt up there with my wedding day and the birth of my children.

keeping my emotions in check will be hard has it was yesterday when jake came for a hug i was litterally lost for words "hard to believe" but true.

the parents and teachers should be very proud in the mature way in which two teams have been brought together without any fuss to form such a talented team when in the past the panthers/locklane devide has ruined many a side.

once again thanks for all the kind words and im sure we will have many a natter before the 25th august not that im wishing my life away.

Spartans U13's advanced to the Continuation Cup Final yesterday, with an emphatic 44-16 win over Methley Warriors. Stanningley saw off Kellingley 50-0, so it's Stanningley v Spartans at the Big Fellas Stadium on 16th June.

Can't wait!
