Not sure, but I would have thought it was all re-designated when the Icebox was built.

The planning permission for plot 8 is definitely more contentious than for BV but I can't see many complaints now as the horse bolted years ago.

But who knows, there have been so many twists so I wouldn't bet my house on it, I'd bet yours though

Had a quick look at the developers documents regarding the enabling funding. The argument appears to be, The Plot 8 site still has the Secretary of State planning agreement for the Stadium. on that site.The developers agree the funding for BV as compensation (rather than a bribe) for them to change the Planning permission to Warehouses, I’m no expert, but perhaps it requires a S o S to agree to change the planning permission.

Sounds likely, we've obviously got YC on a hook and that may well be it. We shall see soon enough I suppose.

JM did say there will be a "grace period" during which time the SOS can call in the proposal if he wishes. Probably highly unlikely he would want to get anywhere near this particular can of worms so probably full speed ahead in February.

However, JM and MC are not fools, it's highly unlikely IMHO they would state publicly that the funding was in place if it wasn't. I'm not sure how it works, I doubt it's as simple as passing a cheque over but it must be pretty secure. Even Ted never went as far as to be this certain.

Obviously, this is all on the assumption that Plot 8 and BV gets planning consent. If it doesn't that doesn't necessarily indicate a scam, just an unsound plan and back to the drawing board.

Just read the full interview with John Minnard and he speaks very professionally and passionately about the club. I feel more optimistic than ever that the ground improvement will now happen.

Just going back to Newmarket did the stadium come with a training pitch etc ?

I’ve not had chance to watch the JM Q&A yet, what exactly does “finance in place for the development mean, does that cover the new East stand, North stand, west stand, Rollin shack, Benidorm flats and the training pitches outside of the perimeter of the ground?

As I understand it, the finance is in place for the East stand and the north stand re-surfacing and I believe the new pitch.
It doesn't include the west terrace, which JM said they had plans for but that would be in the future.

Nope mate this is it, just the East and North stand, it’s been that way all along. The other two sides won’t be done anytime soon.

There is no training pitch, no idea where you got that from, the whole point of a 4G pitch is that we don’t need one. We are paying for that by the way.

This is a partial victory that gets us a partial stadium.

It’s not right or fair but it’s way more than I thought we’d manage tbh.

YC have gotten away with it to a massive degree. They are probably having to splash out 8 million when it should be closer to 40 million.

Fundamentally they have saved 32 million and that’s only because Box finally went and the club stuck at it.

Nobody including MC and JM are claiming this is anything other than a compromise but we are where we are.

We need to move on and once the East and North are sorted find other ways to develop the rest.

Tbh I haven’t heard it yet. But the only phase in the planning process at the moment is the East and North stand and the repurposing of the Rollin shack.

All other phases are in the clubs hands finance wise, or that’s how it was explained to me.

The pitch will always logically be later as it could be damaged during construction.

Just listened again to the interview. JM does mention the 4G pitch, the Rollin Shack he referred to that as the “Community Hub” and the term he said this would be Gutted. The drawings on the portal show upper floors as a gymnasium and cafe, lower floor male & female changing rooms retail and office space, He also said the car park upgraded and the whole view of the new development from Doncaster rd will be dramatically transformed.
The Drawings for the East Stand are quite impressive. The lower floor has teams and officials changing rooms treatment rooms dope room, public toilets at both ends and refreshment kiosk at both ends, Including office and conference rooms, upper floor hospitality for up to 270 guests, with toilets and Kitchen area.
Going back to the 4G pitch, the last 2 Documents on the Trinity portal date 20 October 21, “Community use Strategy and Summary Financial Plan”, The 4G pitch appears to be a vital component to the financial income and to meet obligations of community requirements. I was amazed by what seems to be a legal contract between Trinity and the Council regarding community use of Belle Vue Community Stadium. I would recommend people read these Documents

Right or wrong they got away with it. Chasing them down is a lost cause that will distract from what we want to do.
JM now has a plan and finances to do it, so yes, we are going to have to let it go.

When we have the stadium, by all means go complain about everything and block the next one.

Yes, NM is dead and has been for years, I think that should be obvious by now, so unless you want to take out a private legal action then move on!

One point.

Let's make it absolutely clear here, Trinity is not the one who has to suck it up. Trinity never put any serious money into it and never would have, They would never have owned NM. Trinity were not the ones who were robbed by YC, the WMDC ratepayers were the victims here.

Even if Trinity had ceased to exist the stadium should still have been built. It should have been built to be what it was meant to be, an asset to the whole community and that includes Cas and Fev.

Trinity was only ever going to be tenants at NM, just like Legh and many other clubs now are at their new homes.

People need to get it out of their heads that Trinity had a right to NM, well they didn't, we the ratepayers did, all of us.

In a way, the deal actually benefits the club, we will eventually own BV and the buildings. We have effectively reversed the NM plan and we are now the landlords, all be it landlords who are heavily obliged to share our facility with the wider community.

I wouldn't call it a win but it's certainly swings and roundabouts.
