Fair enough on caro dont think e.t will be in a position anytime soon to take up rugby league. Hes been released believed to be for personal reasons and in respect to e.t right to privacy thats all I want to say on that. All I did in posting this topic this as its just rumour and I wanted to see if theres was any truth in it from your end. I didn't do it to disrespect wakefield or take the mick but if thats thats the case I unreservedly apologise and wish all the best for next season as I do have a soft spot for wakey..

I know this won't be a popular thing to hear guys but.....

I don't think you're in a position to be overly picky and turn your noses up at players. Players that leave will need replacing, and with a financial shortfall, it's only logical that deals will be slightly unfavourable and you won't get many "like-for-likes"

I think the complaint is we'd rather some of our own get a chance to replace departing players rather than unwanted and apprantly poor recruits from other clubs.

fair comment, and I agree whole heartedly.... Though I still reckon that what you'd rather have isn't viable in this case. If you end up with players on the field who aren't ready it could do more harm than good - especially in a relegation year. If your hands are tied to cheaper players this season, then you'll probably get the cast-offs and have to wmake do.

Not that it's always a bad thing, JK achieved the ipossible with, IMO, a much weaker team on paper than what you currently have (assuming there are no more to leave)

Out of interest, who would you "rather" take from HKR as replacements for Poore and Cockayne? (purely hypothetical, obviously, considering there's no citation for this deal whatsoever)

I'd rather the club take £60k. If Lovegrove and Caro are released, due to them not being in Sandercock's plans, by HKR sign them afterwards.

Clubs won't think he's worth his wages AND a decent fee. They're more likely to offer a player swap to cushion the wage bill increase (though that's a pretty basic way of looking at it, granted)

I agree who is going to pay a good fee for an average overseas player.

£30k is a reasonable figure if a clubs wants him. Same fee as Cockayne and £20k less than the fee for Amor.

If clubs were looking to pay a fee, big wages, and use a quota spot.... They'd probably aim a little higher than JP. I would if I was a coach anyway (and it's a travesty that I aren't

HKR are stalling on the Cockayne contract it seems. The deal is agreed, but no paperwork to sign is being made available.

there is no money worries at rovers, we have new investors perhaps that's wishful thinking on Dave@cas's part. as for BC we are currently being linked with a goal kicking winger from elsewhere and as we only need 1 winger perhaps that's why things have gone cold on that front

I think Hull KR's previous money issues have been eased considerably in recent times thanks to Mr Allams interest in sticking the boot into Hull FC. He also owns Hull City and and wants the KC and is also no friend of Adam Pearson.

I believe the deal was put 'on hold' by Hull KR so they could incorperate both BC & JP into one and make it cheaper for themselves overall. We are that desperate to take the chance to get Poores' wage off the books we are willing to do the deal this way. More money-shaped holes are appearing all the time by the sounds of things and I imagine the current incumbents are finding the going quite tough.

We probably paid the players who are staying with us next year before the ones who are departing. Not saying this is what happened just a theory of mine.
