| Tanginoa is a second rower, but Mr Chester insists on playing him at Prop he is going to get more tired so more mistakes. Why Mr Chester keeps putting square pegs in round holes I do not knowl Tanginoa should be played in the second row to see the best of him ,Know when or if he moves on you will see him play in second row and think why did he not play like that for us .Coaching is the answer

| If I were picking a side from our squad
Walker
Greensmith - with a view to being centre cover next season
Lyne
Tupou
Johnstone (Senior)
Jowitt
Hampshire
Arona
K Wood
Kopczak
Ashurst
Tanginoa
Westwood
Wood
Pitts (Bachelor)
Navarette
Fifita - find a way to fix the issue
Miller just doesn’t fulfil the role at half, a bit of show n go isn’t enough also he’s going to get Ashurst injured with his pet short pass play, it’s time for him to kick his heels and contemplate his form or future!
Jowitt is the best organising and passing half we’ve got which is a sad indictment on our recruitment.
Hampshire should be encouraged to take the line on more but be direct and be given greater responsibility for the kicking game which will force him to work on its development and improve it.
My final major decision would be to put the players through a rigorous fitness regime! Mid season isn’t the right time but it’s got to be done as some players are carrying way too much excess. Set a new standard NOW and insist on it being adhered to next season. The forwards should know their optimum playing weight and sanctions should apply if they go above it.

| He isn't a wide running forward. He's a big running forward. A wide running forward needs good hands and that is a problem for him.
Ashurst and Pitts have those spots at the moment. If you drop one of those you improve impact but lose tackle numbers.
I like him a lot and would use him as impact of the bench but if he isn't a shoe in fir second row you might as well play him as a prop.
I've no real problem playing him at second row. We gain a lot. But we lose something too. Which is why I suspect he isn't staying in the one position and probably why he couldn't keep a place in the NRL teams despite his obvious qualities.
He's one of our best runners. But he has flaws too.

I hope you mean Westerman.
And Pitts would be one of my first picks. I might even make him captain.
Miller would still play for me though.

Toss up between Pitts and Tanginoa.
I’d have impact off the bench in the form of Navarette and Fifita but I’d start with impact in the form of Tanginoa.
Miller has flattered to deceive for too long, he’s not fulfilling the halfback duties, he’s not an organiser and he’s lost some dynamism from his running game. He doesn’t do anything that Jowitt can’t do just as well but he lacks Jowitts better variety of passes. Jowitt will only get better the longer confidence is shown in him and he’s left in that position whereas Miller has had the benefit of continuous selection and is what he is.

What?? Is that during the long run he had there to prove himself - or was that during the 1 game on/4 games off tactic that we have used with Jowitt for most of his time.

That's still a lot of games.
I hope he develops as a half back but right now he's cover as we can't get anyone else.
Miller just needs a partner.

| No we just need a coach who can coach and get the best out of what we have which is considerably better than many previous incumbents enjoyed.
I have stated previously that we have no game plan which would appear to be confirmed by Chester never suggesting that the team had not followed his plan. He has complained that players have not played to the standard expected but to be honest he has not coached to the level we would expect. I guess we will see how we go against Hull but sadly we all know he is going nowhere whilst he has friends in high places who still believe in him.

It's not as many games as he has deserved to play - and to be honest the suggestion that he didn't improve at fullback is laughable anyway. He is the best of the bunch we have that can play there and is proving himself to be a decent option at half back IMO with very little game time in that position.

I don't disagree with you. He has improved. I just don't agree that he should have been guaranteed game time in the past.

Unfortunately this is simply delusional, in the 60 games Max has played for us he’s had a handful of games where he’s impressed with individual plays (not even the full 80), the rest have been pretty bog standard.
Rocky is better at FB and HB than Max, Walker is also a better fullback.
Poppy is right, Miller needs a partner. Someone to lead the pack round the park, leaving him and Rocky to play their off the cuff rugby.

I have yet to see evidence of this. Max has a better pass and is just as safe under the high ball.

It's decision making where I think they differ.
Managing the defense and decisions of when to hit the line are improvement areas for Max. If he fixed them up he'd be great.
But how many times do we see Max hit the line only to stop and slide into a tackle. I finf that frustrating as when he gets it right his pass is top notch.

Who says he’s a S/R?
As I say I don’t think he’s smart enough or skilled enough from what I’ve seen. The NRL doesn’t let players as big as him go unless there is an issue and that issue imho is lack of smarts and dare I say a bit soft.
When you look at Batch and the effort he puts in for a small lad you can see the issue.
I was going to include Crowther but he’s suddenly not so small.

Smarts maybe, I don't know, but I'm not sure how smart you need to be to be a SR.

It's not delusional, it's an opinion.
I could say that you're delusional thinking that Rocky is better at either fullback or halfback, but I won't. It's your opinion and you're entitled to it, but I disagree.
In my opinion, Jowitt is better under the high ball than Rocky. He had a really good relationship with Johnstone when given a run at fullback and put him in for plenty of tries when chiming in from the fullback position.
I won't say that I think he is better than Rocky currently at halfback but in the games he has played there I don't see him running the ball across the line and right to the outside edges of the pitch and leaving the three-quarters with nowhere to go, which I have seen from Hampshire many, many times.
How many games has Hampshire had at halfback, compared to Jowitt? Could Jowitt be as good as Rocky with the same amount of experience there? Again, just my opinion, but it's a yes from me.

If tanginoa is as you call it soft what the hell was pauli and hirst ,he could beat them both into a cocked hat on the park .Batch and Crowther are good lads and have a great future in the game but it’s battle hardened guys we need as well right now, seen as our main strike prop has spat his dummy out n taken his ball n bat home .And to that aim I think battye will go well If we sign him
