I think for starters, you're picking out the wrong names - I didn't see anyone suggest that the specific players you've listed should be let go. There are certainly some players at our club though who have become surplus to requirements and it's right that they should be moved on.

As for the Wigan example - they do indeed scout and develop outstanding young players and their side is full of great examples; they also fairly ruthlessly get shot of those young players they've scouted and developed who will not make the grade - the squads of other clubs are full of great examples.

If RA does nothing more than create a system that allows WTW to identify, recruit and develop local youngsters and provide either a defined pathway to first team rugby or a defined pathway out the door, he'll have done us a massive service.

Daryl Clark is the next big thing so I'm told - best hooker in the game, the new Roby blah blah- and sadly some Wakey fans posting on here have already taken the bait.

No bait taken here - I've seen him myself and made my own judgement - he is a VERY exciting young player and has the potential to be Roby's replacement. He is quick on his feet and is quick in his thought - that makes him a very dangerous opponent.

Whether he goes on to achieve all that, or if he settles down to be just a good club player (like Westerman) remains to be seen, but it's up to him!

Daz could well be a top player, he is very good for such a young player. Good to luck to him, he's got a the full box of tricks.

This one isn't Cas rhetoric this time, having seen Clark many times I feel he's the best young hooker in the game. For someone his age he has all the talent you need to make it big, whether he does is up to him and the coaching he receives. And whether he can achieve what he should at Cas or will have to move on to a bigger club is another factor.

Or will have to move on to a bigger club is another factor - there in lies the problem its great getting those young players through its keeping hold of them to kick on and become one of those bigger clubs.I belive when we had the news we would still be in SL we should have said right lets get a few old heads and what youngsters we have with some other upcoming talent brought in and go from that starting point.Ok it would not be a bed of roses this season but it aint been so far with this lot and at least we would have been nearer a standard at the end of next season than we will be now.Some youngsters dont go on to achieve what they promise but others go on to better things some stand still for a time then kick on.Look at Brough his first time round with us as a youngster he didnt show what we saw when he came back to the club.We have had some great servants to the club come from the youth set up in the past Thompson and Bell and one for me who never got the credit he deserved after picking up a knee injury that would have finished most players from playing the game but he gave it all and suffered after every game and thats Roy Bratt.

Couldn't argue with any of these, although i wouldn't be offering long contracts to many of them.

Its been based on his lack of use so far and being sent to a championship1 club at Doncaster but I accept your point and I hope I am wrong about him.It'd be great to see a solid WTW made up of local lads such as Spiers, Trout, Wildie, Walshaw, Kay and Cowling. I wouldn't say that Spiers would be better than Southern though just yet.

As for the others I've mentioned such as Morton,Davey and Motu I think they'll be shown the door. I didn't realise that Mellars is on a 3 year deal which is crazy as he's not been up to scratch and is now being used as a utility player as a result.
We'll also probably lose Amor and be offered Moore in return by Leeds in July!
