Why is Annakin at Feth its stupid? Trout will never make it we may aswell release. Annakin looks very solid every time he plays he deserves a chance hes a excellent back up.

I regret that if Kath Hetherington believes our squad is complete if we include Smith and Owen I am sorry but we are in an even worse position than last season. All clubs face injuries and we intend to go with a current squad of 24 including 3 from our academy and the assistant coach. We currently don't even have an experienced 17 so I ask the question why. We have been given more money from Sky but are intending to go with less so what are we spending it on if not the squad.

I regret you cannot keep blaming the people of Wakefield for not wanting to pay out more for a season ticket. I presume we have cleared most of our debt and used the mid season bonus from Sky to pay the RL loan back, so what are we doing with our share of the sky money.

I don't want to read the usual it all the supporters fault for not going to the games or buying season tickets but do you actually believe this squad will survive and if you know what we are spending our Sky money on.

Gary Hetherington come out and said that the loan signings from the Rhinos won't be there next year, so if we want Kienhorst, we may have to sign him, which would suggest a fee, which would suggest he won't be with us next year?
The only other option is of course that Mrs Hetherington tries to work some magic?

League Express "our squad is nearly complete" and don't forget that did not take into consideration Smith or Owen.

Does it mean we are making no more signings, so the squad is virtually complete, or does it mean our signings are in the bag, but maybe not yet announced, so the squad is virtually complete?

I would hope and expect the latter as the squad is nowhere near strong enough as it is.

He wouldn't be ahead of Kirmond, Lauitiiti, Ryan and Ashurst who must be our top 4 second rowers next season so wouldn't get in the 17 IMHO.

Playing for Fev with the option of a recall may be the route that's being taken(hopefully that's available).

It could well be that contracts for other players have been agreed and there is phased release of the info.

Let's not forget Kath is saying this with all knowledge inside the club. There may be 3 or 4 more players signings complete which are still yet to be announced by the club.

If they have made further signings what is the point in withholding the names, it does not make fiscal sense because signings help sell season tickets.

Our squad is nearly completet isn't it. There's probably maybe 2 or 3 at best permanent signings to come and Webster says he's looking for a couple of loan deals.

The squads around the 22 mark with 2 of thosse going out on loan and that's without Smith and Owen. If we get like what I said above plus some U19 contracts, we'll be about were Webster wants to be. The thing is going to be the quality of those to come. Webster says he wanted quality over quantity, so if it is TS and another couple of SL players and a couple of decent loan players, I dont think we'll be too bad at all, we'll see.

If non of the above happen I'd be worried but for me it's far too early for that.

As for announcing, the season still hasn't ended, there could be a myriad of reasons why the Club haven't announced signings yet.

In comparing the 2014 squad with the 2015 squad the most important difference is not the players but the coach.A good coach can get winning performances out of average players and i think we have a good one at last. Just look at Widnes .It took a while but Kevin Brown excepted it is a bunch of average players who have made the top 8. I think
we can do the same next season but we desperately
need Tim Smith as our version of Brown.

Is it really as simple as that? Maybe initial sales on season tickets are still yet to die down, it`s called drip feeding good news - And that's what keeps people interested and keeps a constant flow of sales.

Plus there is agreements in place between clubs on when they announce such signings, for instance if we sign a player from another SL club they may want there replacement sealed to announce the day after, So there season ticket sales are not effected?

Article in League Express says we are hoping to sign Smith, but Webster is currently in Australia "taking soundings there just in case".

Good to see in the same article as Tim Smith getting signed up on TotalRL, that Webster acknowledge's that we are a little light in the backs and are looking to bring one possibly two players in but nothing concrete to report yet.
And that the players that went for surgery barring Trout, should be good to go for pre-season.

If Danny Kirmond has been fixed and rehabilitated, that'll be like a new signing; and I hear from a good source that Scruton came to us with a badly busted hand but delayed having it fixed so he could be available for selection - got a bollocking from his surgeon as a result.

If both are fit and firing on all cylinders, they'll be like different players.
