To be fair Tomkins, Richards and Farrell where hardly ever going to favour Trinity.

Can we please vary our kick offs. Why kick to the best offensive runner in the league when we need a solid 2nd half start? Seemed brain dead to me, as did the rest of the kicks to him. Thought cockaine had a shocker maybe due to not trusting his centre's defence, but charnley had 3 walk ins which isn't good enough at this level.

Smith and Kirmond went off and couldn't come back on so we were down on subs. Webster said after the game that we only had 1 sub left with 20 mins to go.
Ultimately that cost us.

Wigan didn't have those issues so were bound to end stronger than us. Added to that turning the ball over in our half a few times and the defense eventually broke.

Don't want to play too well at Salford though. Ka$h Money Kool Ka$h will have his cheque book out faster than you can say salary cap.

Had the team worked their booty off for the games that were winnable we would have been in the top 8, so putting effort into a game that was ultimately unwinnable IMO should not be ample reason to forget what has gone on before.
We shouldn't be praising the players for today's performance, we should be asking them why it wasn't there for the previous two games against teams who are at our level.
I said at the start of the season that I thought this squad had enough ability in it to at least compete for the top 8 and possibly the top 6 depending on a couple of other teams, I stand by that opinion, and as such think that this season has been blown for reasons not known to most of us, say what you want but today's performance proves my point and yet some fans are happy to come away from a game losing without questioning why a performance of today's quality that would have beaten most teams in the league has been missing for most of the season and against teams that are far more beatable than Wigan.

Hopefully this performance will illustrate that we do have good back up players to step in when regulars are injured. Wigan had a few missing and i'm sure this will be what people will be focusing on with such a close scoreline. On today's performance, would put Walshaw in front of Lynne. With Collis and Walshaw we have two strong centres. The big thing that surprised me today, was the mighty Wigan army being very covert until the last ten minutes.

I agree. Halibut doesn't inspire confidence. Having said that I have been to games and thought he had got things completely wrong but then thought differently when I have looked at the game on TV.

Tomkins was the captain today with Lockers being out injured. Thats why he was speaking to the ref. I think you are being a bit harsh there.

The disallowed try under the sticks in the first half from Wigan, got called for a knock on, looked ok to me.

The score flattered us today. Very impressed with Wakefields efforts. Cant agree with the ref analysis though. Thought we got penalised frequently for holding down but Wakefield were allowed to get away with it but Alibert is always a nightmare and completely clueless and its a point that is always open to opinion. My friend is a Wakey fan and couldnt make the game and listened on the radio and he said the feeling he got was that Wigan got a rough deal with the ref from the commentary. But anyway, congratulations on a spirited performance. You made us look very ordinary today. Youd have killed Cas last week playing like that.

Well thats all part and parcel of supporting this club, we don't know whats coming next.

What do you expect when we 'make' all the wigan fans down the side (yes that old chestnut) where the can help a clueless ref make all the decisions.

The bit that riled me was when Amor knocked on and if the away fans hadn't have pointed it out we might have got away with it. They also helped Sir Sam Tomkins every time he needed another penalty.

Halibut also gave a penalty to Wakey after the your fans screamed for offside even though it didn't look offside. He is easily influenced!

He also should have penalised Wigan when one of their players knocked on and another player in front picked it up and just called it back for a knock on instead of giving us the full advantage and penalising the offside. Also in the second half we chipped through and our man regathered but offloaded to one of the Wigan players but the supporting man for the chip was grabbed by a Wigan player which should have also resulted in the player being penalised. I also saw twice that the Wigan man playing the ball stepped to the side a meter and play te ball off the mark. Also Alibert doesn't speak to players enough like other refs. If players offside or not square most refs will let them know and to stay out of way for that play or give em a chance to retreat the correct yardage. He would just rather use his whistle instead.

My point is that Wigan (away fans) had a better bleeding view than we did.
How would Wakey fans know we were stuck behind the sticks???????

Yeah, what was this 'segregation' about ? Bit of a pointless exercise to me, once inside the ground on the West terrace around the 30m line from the hospitality suite end, there were just as many Wakefield fans as Wigan fans (and rightly so, this is rugby league, we love the crack with the oppositions fans) What did surprise me was the number of people smoking on the terraces, and people stood in the walkways, with the stewards saying nowt.
