| Are we talking about the bloke who has coached a team into a guaranteed play off spot this year and (stranger things have happened) could make it to the grand final
If the club have chosen him lets give him a chance before we all kill ourselves.
If you support the team then I'm afraid you to have support all those in & around that team apart from if your initials are JK,PB & CS

A few thousand people in Humberside would contend that they have made the play-offs DESPITE Agar, not because of him!
For a genuinely big club like Hull to be scraping into the play-offs...

Heremeia is one of the form hookers in NRL ATM. Crocker went back the following year and played Origin? Fitzgibbon and O'Meley both played in the Exiles game and are 2 of the best forwards in the league.

| Hull FC should be in the playoffs every single year without fail, there shouldn't be a need to 'scrape in'. They are one of the biggest clubs in the league, Agar has dragged them down in his time there.

| If this is true, what about the statement at the Trust meeting that Agar wouldn't be coming (a very clear statement by JE) and recently that the person is someone not mentioned yet? I will wait for the official announcement but I'm not hopeful.
The Hull FC fans are wondering why it has been announced before their Top 8 play-off games - I can only think it is because we would be announcing the appointment at or just before our last match on Friday so they had to do something.
Like some others I would prefer to keep John Kear with new management and new money. No matter what people say Agar has had a lot of money, great crowds, big stadium, press support and Hull are still makeweights in the top 8. That doesn't bode well.
Even if true I'll still get my season ticket as it's the team I support, but I may be depressed for a long time (about 3 years until the next franchise).

| If you go get Agar there you won't be bringing kids through as you have been doing for the past few years - he's scared to give them a go. We've had three kids from the U20s play Super League in the past three years which is a poor record really. Also, as some of you guys have already alluded to, scraping into the top eight by the skin of our teeth is something that shouldn't be happening. Agar has had the full cap to play with and has even had the luxury of paying transfer fees which is something most clubs haven't done for a long time. Put simply, his tenure hasn't been good enough, hence the reason he's gone.

Thank you - and precisely why he wouldn't be good enough for us; we need someone with sufficient skill and fortitude to change the culture of the playing side of our club from top to bottom, and who can instill a level of discipline, positivity and will to win that hasn't been evident at WTW for a number of years.
Richard Agar is not that person.

I like JE from my time involved with the club but if he appoints Agar, along with the recent rumours about ignoring Korki and missing meetings with players then I'm afraid he will get what is coming. P45 spring to mind. What's happened Jimmy?

| Hull FC with their resources should be a top six side year in year out, they haven't for a reason. What that reason is, and whether it is one person's 'fault' is not clear.

| Cant believe the amount of stick people are giving about Agar being the new coach. Heard Chester will be assistant and heard that actually Agar is very well respected by players and is an excellent coach even if he doesnt come across to well on tv. Think the team of Agar and Chest will improve us and we can really kick on next year. Hull are playing excellent at the moment now they have most players back from injury. When it is announced think the so called expects on here need to lay off a bit and give the bloke a chance! it would be interesting to see peoples thoughts if Hull had a good run in the play-offs this year and how people would then judge him!

To be fair, whay are you basing this on? The fact he comes accros as a bit boring?
he could be the best motivator going in the game. What is clear is that some big (relatively speaking) names down under must have some faith in him to come and play for him. Not that I am over bothered about imports, but signings such as Heremia, Crocker Omealy and Fitzgibbon wipe the floor with the likes of Motu Tony, Jeremy Smith, Semi and the like.#
If he doest turn out to be the coach I dont think its the end of thr world. Lets be honest, the goal for the next 3 years or so has to be to become a top 8 side - Agar could very well be the man to consolidate us and take us to mid table mediocracy, from where we can potentially kick on towards the top of the league with somebody else at the helm.
Can't see him taking us to Grand Finals and the Challenge Cup, but he could stabalise us and start the building that we need.

| Gutted Agar's leaving Hull, I always used to enjoy his downbeat tone on Radio Humberside.
I'm sure he'll 'get us tactics right' for Wakey though, smashing fella.

| You could do worse than Agar.
I have been critical of him in the past, but there have been good things about his stay. For instance, it was him that scouted the Briscoe brothers back when they were playing for fev lions and he has a good knowledge of most levels of the game. He also made some other good signings - Fitzgibbon for example.
He has failings, too, such as not correcting our lack of halves and not strengthening our right-hand side, but we have still scored 50+ 5 times this year.
Basically, don't expect great things, but there are worse options than him. For example, I heard in one thread on here that Bobbie Goulding is looking for a club.
