Ha......18 to 35 was just an average.......but in truth its not just clubs.....have been out in most pubs in Rothwell in Leeds and can see it in them all!!!!

Mate from my experience it is all clubs to a greater or lesser extent.

Regards how you solve it, its an old chestnut but education is in my opinion the only way. I have seen lads who have confirmed to me they have been on the stuff on a Friday/Saturday, tested at training on a Monday and pass.


The biggest problem is within most junior set ups but those that go unpinished obviously continue this through into first team.

I have no doubt that the influx of Australians into our game has increased the lads participation in this, it is rife in the NRL but also our game is a reflection of society generally sadly.

Proven that it does not work. It's been taught in schools for many years and people still turn a blind eye to what they have been taught and still use drugs.


Some people learn from there first time and never use it again and some just get hooked on them.

I cant agree with this I am afraid at all, it has been a drug used in england socialy since the late 80s and was first mostly used in places like london - it has since made its way up north so has nothing to do with overseas players at all

We are talking about cocaine here not heroin it is not a drug that is proven to be addictive it is more a problem of been used socially with friends, i would bet most players using it do so with people who are not even in the profession

Problem is that generally those doing the educating know less than those they are trying to educate. It is no use telling kids that all drugs are bad and evil and make you sick/ill or kill you when all around them they see people having a seemingly great and safe time using them.

He's a cheat, the likes of him Hudson and the rest should be banned from our game for life, if union want em, let em have em.
The longer we let these to$$ers remain the longer we will have this problem.
I'm sure these things go on in all our clubs, but like the kid says on the announcements, rugby league is a family sport!! And we don't want drugs in our family!!!!

That is very true, I used to get fed up of all these drug experts coming in telling us stuff we already knew, so if i knew they were going to be there I just did not bother showing up.

I was just talking about drugs in general.

Once you have had any sort of drug you will try something people say is more harsh.

No matter how much education you get I don't think it has much affect on wether you take drugs or not

says who? i think you'll find there are huge swathes of people who would completely disagree with that statement and who themselves are extremely intelligent and successful. that however is another debate, the point being here that hock is in a position whereby he has an obligation to his employers not to do anything which may impair his performance. using cocaine is likely to have a detrimental effect on his performance, especially if used over a sustained period.

It does'nt matter if it's a social drug or whatever. Hock is a professional sportsman and well paid to boot,which prohibits the use of drugs.
He should pay the price.

What gets me they use cocaine because it can pass through the system pretty quickly compared to other drugs so why don't the authorities use a simple hair folloicle test which can go back up to six months on drug testing.
For example all casinos in the States do a six monthly test on all of there staff by this method.

If people think taking drugs is going to have a positive affect then they can't be that intelligent.

Pretty sure there are more people that still take drugs than don't after having the lessons.... But I am saying this based on the people out of my year at school. I am quite amazed how many people I see these days that are hooked on drugs and have nothing going for them.

It's against the rules, he's a cheat.

When he's served his suspension should he be welcomed back? Yes, of course.
