The Tory lot do seem to be doing the most re: the Stadium situation though.
MC stated he was open to any party to come down and talk, it seems only the Tory lot have done.

When you saw the abuse some Wakefield fans gave the Tories after that tweeted picture of them at Belle Vue you have to wonder if some Wakefield fans actually want a stadium? Ok we have spent decades waiting for a ground when there has only ever been one party in control of local politics. The opposition show an interest (although their real intentions are unclear) and they get shot down by a vocal few. Thin skinned politicians must think why do I bother.

A lot of love being shown for the Tories. The problem is that they are basing their entire election campaign on being economical with the truth or downright lies. Hang on to their words by all means and hold them to account but don't be too downhearted when they U turn.

I'd trust the Tories to build the country and our stadium any day over Labour tbh - and the Tories can be pretty crap most of the time - If Corbyn and his acolytes are anything like Blair and Brown - they will eventually have to adopt Tory policy anyway, dress it up and call it old new Labour then inevitably fail.

In the case of our Stadium if a Labour politician gets anywhere near it, it will probably end up half built, four times over budget, the wrong way around and unfit for purpose. Then they will get voted out AGAIN leave a note for the next Tory saying all the monies gone can you please fixe it again - ring a bell?

As for May's campaign I agree it's been poor but she'll still walk it with a 50+ majority. Why? because Corbyns has been worse and I'm really not sure who or what hat Lib Dem bloke is meant to be. I'm afraid it's the way these days. Leftie Liberals are worse but the right aren't far behind. If you don't agree with them and because they assume totally that they are in the right they will just shout you down - very sad.

I'm hoping for movement on the new stadium as much as anyone else, and it's great that MC is inviting politicians down for talks and to show the state of affairs we are in with the ground. But the only thing I can see coming out of that is a nice PR friendly photo and article for the Tories, then we probably won't hear anything else about it from them.

If you remember it was a Tory SoS who sent the agreement back with no clout behind it. I dont think for a second that Box and his cronies haven't been next to useless but the last 7 years has been under a Tory government.

Corbyn is a completely different animal to Blair/Brown's thatcherite economics, he's proposing a new way that basically ensures that those with the broadest shoulders pay their fair share and his main money maker is a corp tax cut reversal to 26% - less than it was in 2010 and still would be 2nd lowest in Europe. Still you can't blame Labour for the global economic crash which led to the deficit going through the roof, though the note was in poor taste.

Whilst other countries have stagnated since the crash GB has actually grown economically, how odd.

You're right about Corbyn he is a different animal - he's an idiot, perhaps a well meaning one but still an idiot. I was around in the seventies when his policies were last tried. total national bankrupcy, endless strikes, unburied dead and rat infested rubbish piled high in the streets. Worst still we had to go cap in hand to the IMF for money, something that is only usually done by countries like Sudan and Ethiopia. If you want that then I can assure you, vote Corbyn in and you'll get it.

Also makes me laugh about corporate tax, all our Tax rates are low that's the point.

Bottom line is that we've had a Labour council in Wakefield for all of my life and it's been the intransigence of the Box administration that has utterly failed with the NM development.

There may be political will from different sides to try and force/shame Box into moving forward but, whichever party our local MP's happen to be from, after the election, the main obstacle will still be leading the local council.

There really is little point in political squabbling amongst Trinity fans.

Religion and politics are always nailed on to cause ill feeling.

As ex military, who served for 22 years, I cannot bring myself to vote for a guy who ever supported terrorists would not make the hard decisions if it ever came to the conflict, and blames soldiers sailors and airmen for their actions did in the the past for terrorist actions now. Im old enough to remember 3 day weeks brought about by unions andthe dust mans strike with rubish all over the place, i was bringing up a young family 3 day week was no good to me there seemed to be strikes every week and inflation touched the sky,i know this forum aint about politics but if mo corbyn,larry mcdonnel and curly abbott get in itl be back to those times quick time and some of the abuses might change their minds
