Trouble is he's still under contract. with a good stand off and a classy centre inside him he could be worth 20+ tries a season. Granted he'll let a few in but he's still very much a work in progress type player, you can coach a player to improve his defense.

To be honest, I'd rather we got rid and got James Stosic back.

Having said that I'd rather have neither and use our quota places to bring in some real quality.

Hickey has been a real disappointment for me, any player who can't be bothered to get/keep himself fit when he knows he is expecting to start playing at some point soon doesn't deserve a contract. I know he couldn't necessarily be match fit but there is no excuse (IMO) for him turning up in the general state of fitness that he did.

Unfortunately we have been seeing the same mistakes for 2 seasons now in defensive patterns so I would dispute that we can currently coach anyone to improve their defence!

Of our current crop of prop forwards, only Amor excites me; if we could bag him from Leeds on a permanent basis, I'd be chuffed to bits.

I'd still like to see Hickey with a really good off-season behind him; I would however be sitting down with him and tellling him in no uncertain terms that we could easily be sacking him on grounds of capability - the fact that we're not means that he owes us something, so we expect to see that debt repaid in the form of some massive performances next season.

One thing's for sure - we've got some serious shopping to do; I might put my wife forward for a consultancy role, that's her speciality.

I think Johnsons future lies in the front row and hes one to keep hold of for sure. The experience Gleadhill is getting at one of the top clubs in the Championship will stand him in good stead and he should return a vastly improved and more confident player.

my guess is that he'll be a player that people talk about in ten years time as somebody that could have made it big. the truth is that for all the pace in the world he's a poor rugby player, and there isn't anything that coaching can do about the fact that he's not got it.

Murphy has to be our fullback next year the kid as tons of potential at fullback.

The players were elated yesterday and whatever it meant for their future as individuals they were all genuinely delighted for Wakefield Trinity Wildcats fans and officials.

They may be physically and mentally fatigued from the rigours of a tough campaign but there's no doubting their commitment to the red White & blue.

As you mentioned Kyle Amor, he was beaming after the news, his commitment and obvious enjoyment is clearly evident when he plays but just as much so off the field yesterday, he's also much bigger than I thought he was.

i remember crusaders signing a prop from south sydney i think for next season ? cant remember his name tbh but it caused a few ripples on here as he is meant to be a top class forward if his contract is null and void now maybe we could nip in first and try snap him up his name anyone ?

He's a centre IMO, why make a top class centre into a FB seems a total waste to me.

I think Gledhill will benefit from his time at Fev and his alleged disillusionment. Ben was slightly overlooked at Cas and is only marginal at Trinity at the moment. it's just my opinion but in sport the best players are often those who have the most difficult route to stardom and he has the potential to star. Players like that appreciate it when they finally make it then fight to stay their. Peacock is a good example, Ryan Bailey is an example of how it can all go wrong. If Ben keeps his head down and keeps learning he will get his break and he will take it with both hands. I do understand the frustration especially where money is concerned as I suspect he's on a fraction of what Hickey is on and like the rest of us he wants a life. I reckon if he can hold on for a year or so he will cement his place.

Ask murphy yourself he prefers been at fullback! Did you go to the game against hull away he was truely outstanding at fullback. Centre I think hes been average this season. The kid as a safe pair of hands a excellent defence supports the man . Trust me on this 1 guys Murphy is a Fullback !!! 100 % George and senior centres for next season !

I think we should keep faith with Hickey, with a full pre season training under his belt this guy will be an asset. He’s put some really big performances in the NRL the ability is there; as long as he’s mentally focused we are on to a winner. If we have a chance of signing I’m hoping we make a move for Shannon Mcpherson, obviously this would depend on the quota situation.

What ever happens our first priority is sign up the young lads that were on one year deals that could be out of the door at the end of this season.

You mate are one of the worst judge of players on here IMO and your past record proves it. Frankly I'd like to know were you heard Murphy say that because I know he has played 90% of his career as a Centre. It's the Coaches job not the players to decide what a players best position is and they seem to think it's centre and from what I've seen it is.

i think your absolutely way off the mark here vasty ONE of the worst judges of a player on here ?? id not just say on here hes probably one of the worst judges of a player in the entire universe myself , always remembering him absolutely slating duncan mcgillvary on here the next match he got man of the match after putting in his normal workmanlike performance and laddo tried to take the credit for it as duncan must have read what he put on here you couldnt make it up honestly.
