Agree. Thought Langi was very good yesterday.

He's just well past his best now and I reckon last nights standard performance hot on the heels of similar v Fev will see Hall and Langi take the centre positions next time out.

That’s may be the case but will Mash be his own man and play form players or will he play who he is told to by the CEO. Lynne is a well known fave of the CEO after all.

As I’ve mentioned in an earlier post I’m not blaming Lineham for TJ’s tries I’m saying that I think Kershaw takes the ball up better than Lineham, who certainly played better than last time I saw him.

Rewatched the game today. Our energy in the forwards was so sluggish, literally for the first 19 minutes hardly our forwards took a drive. I didn’t notice at the time but Atoni was either playing crook or really fatigued, was properly sluggish. Proctor looked perpetually knackered too. Our back 5 pretty much did the ground work, so wonder why our kick chase was laboured on any decent kick we actually did.

Good to see we have a fall guy to blame for the defeat .Every body on about Lynn running in to touch,help by 3 plus Catalan players..Nothing said about Murphy howler behind the try line for there first try ,Nothing said about Smith holding on to the ball and getting smashed on the sixth tackle about 30 yards from is try line .In the next set of six Catalan scored .In fact Catalan scored four trys by Wakefieds mistakes in our half.Stood against a scout for Wakefield, at the match and he said well into the second half ,he was very disappointed with Langi but would give him a few matches .Pity some of you can not do the same with Lynn .Do not think he was any were near the worst player on the pitch .You can not expect or wingers to look good when we do everything in the middle of the park at half pace

That was probably Lynne's only mistake.
A few other players made significant mistakes.

It was Lynes only mistake but let’s not sugar coat it. It was the biggest mistake and we were in the ascendency in a critical part of the game. That completely swung the momentum.

Couldn't agree more about the six again rule. It stinks. I think there's an unconscious bias applied with it as well. Grant murdered us with six agains and often I was left scratching my head at the difference was to what he was l;etting catalan get away with. There was one instance second half where a Wakey player won the ruck and a Catalan player was left on the deck behind the Wakey man on the floor and the Catalan player grabbed the wakefield player (who was on his knees about to regain his feet) and pulled him back towards him in a second effort and it still didn't get given as a six again. Not to mention the amount of times they were holding on to players and having hands in when Wakey players had regained their feet. Thought thy were very messy in the ruck and Grant just let it go all day. Evene radio leeds mentioned the reffing in that respect.

Turned to my Dad after the first 15 minutes and said I didn't think Atoni had carried the ball yet. And we couldn't remember when he had. It was odd. Proctor was busy in defence but again, didn't seem to carry the ball many times. I could be wrong. I hope they improve. Atoni looked decent in a couple of the friendlies so hopefully just an off day.

Without sounding pedantic Lyne was at fault for Johnstones 2nd try. He didn’t even compete for that ball, just stood there with his arms out to catch the ball while Johnstone jumped above him and collected the ball. The whole team simply need to be better at defending kicks on that showing.

Agree that some players seem to be blamed for mistakes more than others who make similar mistakes. Hardly anything said in any forum about the Murphy howler. Imagine the hysterical condemnation if that had been Lineham .

More excellent play from Davies than howler from Murphy. 98% of the time we get a set restart on the 20. Either way it shouldn’t of happened. I thought our back 5 took the ball up really well, took a lot of pressure of a fatigued looking pack at times.
