Perhaps, but but maybe he's giving us as much as he dare without it being official - nudge nudge, wink wink kinda thing - not ideal but he's trying, I think.

| Quote ="inside man"I have never seen a direct quote saying we are not going to oakwell, when it was first mentioned about going to oakwell it was said that details could nit be released due to the other party not wanting it made public, I will not be surprised if it is on our app to go there for the next three years whilst we get a new plan A moving if NM falls through.'"
Imagine this...
[iAG lets it be known that his club's only lifeline in SL (Oakwell), is no longer an option...cue an acceptance they will be out.
RW, in state of relief, knowing that his nearest rivals have accepted defeat, announces that his stadium will now be delayed at least a year.
Then, on franchise day, loe and behold Oakwell is Plan A and the club's immediate future in SL is secure, unlike the club down the road who have admitted to not having anything concrete (literally)![/iCan't believe that's true, but would make a plot line in Dallas look tame.

| Did we have confirmation were not going to Oakwell? Is this definite or maybe was it to force Castleford into admitting their plans were behind schedule and they'd remain at Wheldon Road, Whilst we play out of Oakwell or another Premier standard stadium?
Either way i've confidence in AG and the team and what will be will be

It would be a dummy of monumental proportions if that was the idea.

| Quote ="Theboyem"Of course fans shouldn't know everything. Sometimes though its better to say nothing at all rather than little titbits for people to pick up on. AG's statement last week about a possible newbuild and Oakwell no longer was always going to generate debate. Even more so when Oakwell was seen as our one saving grace regarding a licence. Then as rumours circle about NM etc then people start putting 2+2 together and getting allsorts. If he hadn't made that statement then nobody would be any the wiser. Either tell the full story or don't tell any at all.'"
Titbits, and those feeding off them, got us to the position we are in now. The club really can't, as you say, dismiss every rumour going or there'd be no time for them to sort anything out. This mistrust is a by-product of the previous regime, and it's a shame that it means the new one just can't get on with stuff!
Communication has been so much better for the last month than it has been for 10 years or more. Some should remember that.

I hope that this is the case and AG is a damn fine poker player. There is a quote from a poster on another forum saying we had agreed a 5.5K a match deal to play at oakwell so maybe there is more to it than meets the eye. Deadline for applications is tomorrow. Guess its just wait n see time.

| I fully agree with the RFL, the best place for Wakefield Trinity is in Wakefield.
Making the ground comply is a different matter.
I know Mr Glover is new to RL, but he seems very confident, where ever we end up, I'm sure we're in very safe hands.

intersting that oakwell was not the rfl's best option! Didnt realise they picked where we play'"
the RFL have the difficult task of booting a club out of SL. If we are stuck at Belle Vue it makes their task much easier, therefore thats why Oakwell was not the rfl's best option.
now looking at Newmarket we know the PI is to commence on 6th December and therefore March 2012 we should have a decision. If thats positive we have to put in for full planning, prepare site infrastructure then builkd a stadium. 18 months would be a reasonable timescale to complete.
To stay at Belle Vue say for possibly 3 seasons at most will cost us in rent. I don't know the figure but the old club were given a cost of £100k per season. Then add to this the cost of short term ground improvements I would think Barnsley would be as cheap if not a cheaper option.

| I'm not going to claim that I know everything that Yorkcourt are doing but I do know that the previous post about a meeting of all the big hitters was held last week and it's all systems go at Newmarket.
Maybe Yorkcourt are testing the Market maybe they're not, personally I think not.
I don't believe the post on the Cas site and think it's a load of cock being spouted by a poster who got lucky on a 50/50 call and is now trying it on. Of course there are now a number of Cas fans pleasuring themselves over the thought of it.

| Ok got few questions, my information related to the new stadium idea is a bit creaky, so could do with some clearing up.
Is it correct we got a two million land grant for us to loan money against to build the stadium from the Wakefield Council?
Is it correct this loan was dependant on us being in Superleague?
If so do we still have access to the land, or don’t we need the land?

| As I understand it all the report on the Cas Forum says is that Yorkcourt have approached Land Agents in Leeds to sell Newmarket. This is common practice with Developers, they usually appoint Agents at act for them in securing sales and bringing in occupiers. Waystone use Agents on Glasshoughton.
Just a matter of people putting two and two together and getting 5.
The Council, the Community Trust, the Club and Yorkcourt are committed to Newmarket so can those who are stop pannicing.

Unlike Waystone at GH, at this moment in time, at Newmarket there is nothing to sell in terms of Units/Parcels etc only land with a potential/ likely 51 Ha of B8 industrial use.

When do you start to 'sell' something? Didn't a certain housing developer 'buy' a site we know for housing in Castleford? Hasn't the same piece of land just been 'sold', subject to planning, to another developer?
If you had someone ready to 'buy' subject to planning, that could be started straight away when it is possibly approved and therefore not having to wait for a return on your investment quite as long? Is that not a good business position to be in, planning ahead?
You get my drift...

| By all accounts the Nostradamus of Castleford is now likening our potential stadium build with Evertons, which was turned down, which of course means that Newmarket will get turned down as well.
The undesirable was saving that up for us so that he could announce it to the world and spoil it for us should we ever have a reason for celebration. Some of the knuckle dragging ignoramuses that populate the site are stroking his ego for him.
