You've done a great job with the squad, however It must be hard trying to make progress while ever we have
the dump of Belle Vue. I really hope you can get Newmarket sorted as quickly as possible.

Seems like he isn't coming now anyway, but I was told BJB was only allowed out on loan to us and no other club, because of the Hetherington link.

I like Belle Vue, if we owned it I would have no problem staying there. I notice that many football clubs are wanting terracing to be reintroduced and with the abolition of licensing grounds no longer form any great importance to a clubs SL existence.
I suppose it is a drain on our resources but currently it is all we have got and despite what many think it is no better or worse than Odsal or the Mend a Hose stadium.

Belle Vue could be made great again money no object

The big advantage that the old stadiums have is the atmosphere. I know logistically it would be hard to do it but a full length stand on the western terrace and it would be a good stadium. Problem is at present you don't own it and unless you could get a long lease on favourable terms any money spent on improvements is dead money. The other draw back with most old stadiums (including the jungle) is they were built before car ownership was common and no provision was made for parking. Its surprising what a lick of paint or new cladding can do at relatively low cost although i have to admit i never used to notice the faults at wheldon road until away fans point them out. I suppose its when you see it every week you don't notice the decline as it is so gradual.

you must of read my mind as I was going to post the same but shorten it down, I would love to see the west side revamped deeper and higher to include seated hospitality suites too, east side covered through at the same level, the sun would still keep the pitch in good nick too. the flats could then go and the south stand done the same as the north.

I don't know if your old enough to remember the old west stand snowie. I was only a kid myself but i used to go to most trin matches and when you're small every thing seemed much bigger but wow how i dreamed of some day sitting in that stand. I wonder if there is a market for retro stands that look like the old ones but are made of modern materials. Perfect.

yep I remember it all, even down to the old lass that used to serve out the hot cups of tea out of the burko boiler at training night when it was wet through

I remember the tunnel and bar under the stand. It was sadly a victim of the fallout from the Bradford fire. I appear to remember that where the flats are we had a covered terraced stand that went when I think the chairman was Woodward decided to pull it down to give them room to move the pitch 25 yards to allow development of a supermarket.
The chairman in charge of Wakefield have a lot to answer for especially after the stand went the pitch did not move one inch.
What a crazy bunch they are, I wonder if SL have considered the implementation of some sort of personality test for all club chairman to make sure that with time they do not develop symptoms of megalomania or paranoia.

Always remember my first games with my Dad and scrambling down the banking from the old covered stand where the flats are now, when leaving after a match. That was a fantastic stand , and quite often full in the 60's.

Had my share of pints from the bar under the west stand as for BV just need that lotto when its £100 mill plus then also buy the old power station site for match day parking and cheap lease to wakey council for park and ride during week.

The rumour I always heard about the South Stand, was that they were going to build a new one but knocked the old one down before getting planning permission for the new one!
So could this have been the catalyst for Trin's mismanagement over the years?

I remember all that myself. I also remember how good the team was in those by gone days.

However lets keep the fond memory its now time to move on and the sooner the better.

I remember going to a presentation evening at Newton Hill Club where we were shown architects drawings of the present club house with a new south stand extending from that.
Sadly the stand never materialised.

The same thing was being said about Glover a year ago and even Ted was once considered a safe pair of hands.

We should always remain questioning until we see the clubs accounts in black and white. No offence to MC but no one is above reproach

As a qualified accountant I'd love to read our accounts Daddy Cool. I remember being a shareholder under Ted's reign. I requested a copy of the accounts and only got a balance sheet. I requested a copy of the income statement and the missing notes to the balance sheet but had no response.

It was hard being a shareholder.

I agree. Whoever is in charge, fans shouldn't be complacent. Questioning things and being constructive is a good thing, done in the right manner. Michael has done a fantastic job so far and been open and transparent with the finances so far. I'm sure this will continue as integrity is worth a lot to him.
