This is nothing new really,look back historically probably back to the late 70's and our crowds were very similar to todays.

think trb nailed it, friday night games where away team has to do more than about an hours journey are always going to be poor attendences, and for a family of 4 your looking at 50 quid to get in, again Im sorry to say this but twice a month on sky your looking at 100 quid saved in many peoples eyes. Or put it another way not taking the family pays for your months sky subscription!!

a new ground wont change that, in my opinion nothing will on a cold friday night, however a team pushing for the top 4 and or a cup run will bring the fans out of the pubs / armchairs.

on a positive note more people have asked me this week about games to go to to try it / see if they /their kids like it.
however I was honest and did not recommend last night as a good starting point for newbies.

Same price for when ever you go. But Friday nights is not the best for a family with young kids, I prefer night games to Sunday though.

Playing well should do enough to get the fans in but obviously not. Hope they start turning up, we certianly have more fans that what turn up.

Numbers wise our support last night was low, but the fact it was a friday and on sky will have impacted upon that unfortunately - and the fact the move of the game wasn't (that I saw) particularly well publicised by either club or the RFL in advance meaning people who needed to change work to get there couldn't.

Fair play to those that made it.

I can tend to tell how many on the traffic to the game, walking to the ground thought about 7k, shame it wasn't even that

we need all the young kids in wakefield educated to follow wakefield instead of leeds. The kids grow up and follow the glory teams it happens just the same in football look how many man u shirts you see round here in stead of the local teams like leeds and huddersfield

Well, I was due to go and then the game was switched from Sunday to Friday night. The coach from St Helens would be leaving at 4.30 and I'm still at work then. So that was me and two others out of the running. I'm sure a number of other coach-reliant fans will have had similar problems.

Why does the coach leave so early 4.30 i know it's friday night BUT our supporters coach leave's 5.30 to 5.45 to any away match over the Pennies

No idea why. Just is the way it is unfortunately! Presumably it's to take into account possible delays on motorways and such when hitting rush hour on a Friday night? To give peeps the chance for pre-match drinkies? Don't know whether that's true but it's all I can think of. I would have gone had I known someone willing to drive me over there. Alas, there was no-one. (Parking appears to be the stumbling block, a bit like at Saints I guess)
