Either that, or maybe he thought we were unlikely to win. Just speculating, but maybe his hand has been forced to withdraw for other reasons...we are dealing with our council after all

| Out of curiosity BLM, what is, or what will the capacity be at Ossett Albion, once their work is all complete.

| Tidy little ground is Ossett Albion but I would think they need to sort out a different access route (maybe off Healey Road if that were possible) in order to have a viable expansion plan.

| Only reason why I ask, is that according to Wiki, I think their capacity was something like 3000, and the average attendance in the 4th tier, should they go professional, and work their way up through the leagues was 4700. If this were to happen, and were to progress, and who knows, maybe even beyond that, then their ground would probably be deemed too small. We are still fighting for a new stadium, and have been as long as I have been supporting them just about. Should one day Ossett need to move to a new and bigger stadium, what is the likeliehood of this council delivering another stadium on top of what we are trying to achieve.
To me, a facility, which would be shared with us and Ossett, would seem the most feasable option.

| There ambition to get into the next tier will also require ground improvement as well as a squad build. Exactly what recommendations are required regarding the capacity I’m not sure but they’ve already got a full time manager and a decent players budget backed by 2 very keen and ambitious young business men.

| Can’t see where they’d put a new stadium in Ossett apart from at the holiday in on Queens Drive... which I’m sure was one of the original suggestions for a new Stadium... ever get the feeling we’re talking in circles!

Yes Queens Drive was an option. Would have needed a lot of soil moving to level out the site.

| I live in the south of Wakefield, and today received the Winter 2017 Wakefield South Ward Labour Party Newsletter through my letterbox which contains the following statement: "We will be working hard to secure a Community Stadium at Belle Vue that will not only be a resource for the whole city but also help regenerate Agbrigg and Belle Vue. The area has a proud history as a centre for Rugby League andit can also help build a positive economic future for the area"
Strange, only less than six months ago their leader said it was nothing to do with the Council!!!!
Although I'm a commited Socialist, I think I'll give them a miss in May.

Good idea, withdraw from the democratic process because a Rugby League stadium is all that matters. Doesn’t matter that the Tory-enabled Wakefield Academies has screwed up local education, or that Tory cuts to Council spending are damaging everything from social services to policing - let’s just take our bats home and let them carry on!

Exactly my thoughts also, it's getting a bit tedious now all this points scoring between people of differing political views.
Its a forum for Wakefield Trinity and Rugby League, lets keep to the subject.

| Hoping more positive meetings/news this month get some watertight contracts signed and get on with it, 2020 playing in the new Belle Vue stadium and if it's built to the design that was released back in September it will be a very tidy well designed stadium.

Hope not because it's a really good stadium design and looking at 88m's other projects they're all well designed. Could be a cheaper flat pack option or as many on here will say nothing will happen we will have to wait and see.

Thats the trouble mate, at the time the other contracts seemed watertight but they just tear them up and produce another water tight contract. ![Sad icon_sad.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_sad.gif)

Frankly at this moment I don't really care what it looks like or where it is - we've lost that battle for now because time is against us.
With SL going back to 14 teams and essentially a franchise again we need something, anything that meets minimum standards.
We can walk it on everything else especially if we have another good year so we don't need the new Wembley.
A new main stand and a roof on the west terrace and all terracing relayed would just about be enough. It's a far cry from what we want or what we deserve but staying in SL is vital.
Sadly I'm not convinced well even get that in time. MC and the Trust have a devils own job. They need to be pragmatic yet can't just cave in either and they have perhaps 18 month to do it (at best)

| Perhaps one thing going for us is that if Manni intends to develop the rest of the site, he will need to ensure the "stadium" is externally presentable or he will just undermine his own project. To then add a revamped Western side and incorporate an Eastern side development into his overall project would get us through the minimal requirements. Leaving the Benidorm in place means we will be able to continue the excellent hospitality that the club has created from such minimal and unlikely facilities.
Entirely inadequate - yes. Entirely likely - yes.

| Anyone concerned with Nigel Wood going and now roger draper? From what I have read , it seems ‘the bigger ‘ clubs are trying to take back control of super league which could lead to small clubs been squeezed out ...
In more ways than One we need a new stadium and a half decent one at that..

As far as I can see this will be the first stadium on 88m's portfolio and to make the development look good hopefully they'll stick to the plans, everything else they've done looks good. Apart from the east stand which looks more like a corporate stand the other stands look basic just well designed.
