The ability of the Australians to bring through top quality outside backs is ridiculous and I don’t think again looking at injury record it would be worth the risk of them overlooking one of their youngsters.

I’m thinking Catalans is a great move for him playing outside one of the most creative fullbacks in the league will suit TJ down to the ground.

Don’t forget Toms injury record, apparently he’s only played 40% of possible games due to injury. Catalans will need to retain a quality back up winger

Where does the 40% come from.
A quick look on the rugby league project website suggests he's played 111 games out of a possible 216 since his debut on 27/3/15, which is 52%. Not great but not 40%

By my calculation he’s played 64.33% of the games he’s been available for

110 games played
171 available for

Does that include super 8s, challenge cup and playoffs?

Includes super 8s and play off games but not Challenge Cups but there are so few Challenge cup rounds it won’t change the % much

Don’t shoot the messenger It’s only what I’ve been told by a responsible person should I say who is a lot closer to the club than certainly me and probably most on here . Whatever it is % wise I think the main point is we can now draw a line under it and move on without him , and imo that’s what we need to do, as I’d not be comfortable with a winger having to fulfil his contract under duress when his future lies elsewhere and we have quality youngsters chomping at the bit to be the next Tom Johnstone , and to be honest we have much bigger fish to fry going forwards without him however we part company

This is just plain crazy because he is our one true X factor, remember Salford. If he is leaving so what there is nothing in his history to say he would not give anything less than 100%. I expect other clubs know they have players leaving but I bet there is no suggestion to let them go early and we certainly cannot let someone like TJ leave.
I don’t know him but his loyalty is without question because I am sure he could have left on many occasions.
We have to be realistic we need him now more than he actually needs us.

Fortunately, I think that Tom is one of those players that, injuries permitting, will give his all out effort for the rest of the season. Westerman springs to mind; once it was evident that he was returning to Cas we never hardly saw him and got excuses and spurious reasons for not playing. I'll never forget Tom's one man show against Huuddersfield. What a legacy.

I wished Tom would have seen his career out at our club , crowd pleaser extraordinaire and the big fish in the little pond ,someone to rebuild our team around . I have has much idea as the man on the moon as to the situation with Tom , but these hearsay’s and rumours are getting louder and the club is doing nothing to dispel any of it , in fact the silence is quite deafening. I think my mind was made up watching the Poching interview on the Leeds game and looked decidedly uncomfortable answering what should have been an easy answer , but wouldn’t have looked out of place in the House of Commons dodging the questions with aplomb . I genuinely feel for Poching , his star player is on the move ,the natives are restless and the sky appears to be falling in all around . Now I’ve just heard on sky sport that Miller is to go to Cas next season

It’s just a pretty alien feeling as it’s been a while since we lost quality players, we’ve managed to keep our best players since MC took over. I don’t know whether to be worried or optimistic

I've been exttemely concerned for a few weeks now. Tonights news isn't allaying this. The lack of connection from the club to the fans is deafening.

For me only Batch is an eye opener ,we always knew Tom was going to seek pastures new sooner or later , even when we manage to get near an opposition line our half’s hasn’t a clue how to open them up ,it’s usually a solo effort , so for me probably the right time for a change in the half’s , and hopefully Toms wage on a powerhouse who gets up up the field . Batch on the other hand is a mystery at present , but it will all come out in the wash . Sometimes you have to take a few steps back to go forwards and if they want to go why stop them . Better to have a team of players that want to play for us than players that don’t . I’m sure things will become much clearer in due course as to our plans for the future .

As I've stated before,we are already setting up for a championship season and it looks bad,indeed very bad

I’d have retired by now if I had a £1 for every time I’ve heard that over the years . How about we are shaking things up , those that want to go ,exit stage left . Too many are going through the motions at our club ,there are hungry players chomping at the bit to get a game stopped by so-called senior players going through the motions . Something has to give , as I’ve said Johnstone going was inevitable,Miller wasn’t breaking any pots and struggling for form ,a change is a good move for both parties. And if Batch has decided the grass is greener over the Humber , good luck . Still plenty of rugby to be played this season before the white flag is hoisted over Belle Vue

The problem is those rumoured to be leaving represent our better players who will be wanted by other clubs. We cannot afford to lose these type of players because where do we get the replacements. I don’t think we can sign anymore from London but you never know. I will say again we are not an attractive club to join hence our bargain basement players signed recently.

Not sure if it’s being confirmed regarding TJ but Murphy to me looks like he’s got the potential to be as good as TJ. Head and shoulders best player on pitch tonight. Last reserves game he scored a hattrick and he’s played well in his debut season and knows where the try line is.

I really hope we can get him signed up longer term because he’s impressed imho. The more game time he gets the better he will get I’m sure. Him and Hall could be a cracking pair for the future.
