| Just over 7000 according to a comment on the Train Facebook site. Probably something like this at the moment
2600 East Stand
1700 Western Terrace
3000 North Stand
The North terrace held about 6k I believe before the recent work was carried out. At the moment it's significantly lower than what it was. Obviously the Western Terrace could hold a lot more if the boxes were disposed of the rear part terraced but we all know the owner is looking at both these areas

Regardless of the actual capacity, Its a great achievement to sell out the fixture.
After the season that we had last year, to generate this level of interest is superb.
Well done to all involved and let's hope we can kick off our league campaign with a win !

I really hope so. Historically we have fallen short at home in these games where the crowds turn up.
A win Friday will go a long way to convincing some fans on the fence to commit to season tickets or return for the next home game.

There's an interesting NSC article from Mar 2023 about the Belle Vue Stadium redevelopment
(presumably written before last year's delays on the New Stand)
https://www.newsteelconstruction.com/wp ... wakefield/
This article states:
[i East Stand capacity 2600
Refurbishment of the North Stand to increase capacity from 1500 up to 3500.
Overall, the completion of the work will increase the stadium’s capacity from its current 7258 up to 8866.[/i
Last season the capacity was 4710.
So if all that's changed is the New East Stand, then the capacity should be about 7300.
Assuming the article was written before the delays, then a figure of 7258 could be the exact current capacity.
The article implies extra work will raise the capacity by another 1608.
But that doesn't quite tally with then saying "[iRefurbishment of the North Stand to increase capacity from 1500 up to 3500[/i."
I've also no idea what the capacity is of the South Stand/boxes, but I would assume it's a few 100. So we need to knock that off the North/West terrace figures?

And yet the Cas death trap has an alleged 13000 capacity, presumably both limits defined by Wakefield MDC.
Go figure!!

That was for the new stadium at escape. Glasshoughton in the address is the give away. We had 10,200 for the Wigan game and the club said there were only about 200 to lets left so the capacity is probably about 10,400.

It’s a real shame as Thornley in the two games has looked fast and strong. I really hope he gets on the field a lot this season. Early signs though suggest he’s struggling with repeated knocks/shoulder concerns.
Would be a huge boost on Friday if he was in.
That said I’m pretty happy with Croft coming in. He can put a winger away, solid in defence and I think he will get better with more games too.

I may be wrong but im sure crowther said on his last injury update thornley was out for at least a month or 2,he was always a gamble of a signing esp when only goung with 3 centres he is known for missing games which is a pity cos think he would be decent in this league

Didn’t think that was the case so I just rewatched it. Thornley pulled out at the Newcastle game with a calf issue. The injury update 2 week ago Crowther said a couple of weeks so could possibly be Bradford game he returns.
Bain was also Bradford game or a few weeks after so I guess he could possibly feature too.
Guess we will have to wait and see.

On Bulls Facebook they’re not very positive and seem to see Corey Johnson and Brand as a big miss. I know Davies is out too.
Thornley is a big miss. I can honestly see Croft and Olpherts on the right which should be good. Whoever is against Taufua needs to get on him like a rash.
The threat for bulls will be Gaskell, Gill, Taufua imo. Need the forwards to get us on the front foot on home soil. Hope to see sone strong defence from us too.

The 2 loanees brought in by Bradford are complete novices at this level - one of them couldn't even get a game for Widnes when on dual reg there. Shirt -fillers, albeit with some potential in the future.
