| The bloke gives his all,but there isn't much left I'm afraid. Adds nothing much in attack and would have to up his game to a whole new level in the remaining games to get another deal.Wish he could, but I can't see it.

| Not sure about Proctor. He needs to do more in the back end of the season for my money to get an extension.
Something's clearly caused a change in camp, you can see that in the whole team. It's important we identify the catalyst and make sure that's around long term.

It pains me that Harry Bowes isn't sponsored by Starmix. Someone should really get in touch with Haribo about this.

You could be right about leaving it to the coaches, funny since Ford left we have had this turn around from a drab team to a team who look interested As far as Procter is concerned ,think with the pack going forward as they are, do not think there is room for Proctor and J C in the team as tackling is the strong point of both players. If both in the team will put too much work load on a aging pack to go forward. So some interesting decions for the coach to make when players fit

| Hope not the guys shot, came over to visit europe and has, only we were dumb enough to sanction it.How fans back these players is beyond me complete waste of a quota spot.Blowing after 5 mins, form picked up a bit at contract time fancies another year at butlins. Lino 3 years best kicker in league the other season now dosen't kick or wont play hooker,we're fighting for our lives here.Learn our lesson AGAIN! get a experinced dor and a coach who wont stand for letting em get away with the apathy thats killing this great club.Thank god dave came back but he needs assistance euphoria only lasts so long.

| I dont see the sense in keeping Proctor and releasing Crowther (who we we dont seem to hear about injury wise) who offers far more in effort and age.

| Proctor definitely isn't the guy he was or even expected but Crowther isn't the answer either.
His effort is 100% but his skill level is much lower than Proctor.
If we kept him he'd be a decent squad player. If he is going to Cas as is rumoured, then I won't cry about it.
If we want to push on, we need a 13 who can tackle but also make yards.

| PT I can't quote your comment for some reason, but you must have been seeing something different in Proctor to suggest Crowther's skill level is much lower. Which skills are you referring to? In terms of yardage, they're the same player with neither making enough meters (although I would imagine JC will put his hand up much more than KP does).
JC offers more as he can cover dummy half, which Proctor clearly could not as it would take him twenty minutes to stand up straight after passing the ball. I would also say he's much fitter, as KP is generally on the sidelines or kneeling down for a breather.
I also don't think JC is the answer at 13, but would have him as a squad player. Objectively speaking, he offers so much more than Proctor. Nothing against KP I think he tries but he physically cannot play to this level anymore. We need so much more from a quota spot and high earner.

Agree with all this, and is probably the reasons he wants away, and I can't blame him, he was deemed good enough to be named vice captain at the start of the season.

I’m a massive advocate for developing youth and having a homegrown team but the reality is that Crowther main attribute is effort and fitness.
He’s not developed as he should and would at best be a squad player.
His main let down is he lacks a pair of hands and doesn’t offer a link up in plays. Passing moves which are meant to go pitch width often got to Crowther who put his nose down and drove it in. Which would be fine if he was an effective runner.
Also people say he’s good in defence but I don’t see that at all. He’s been bumped off not being strong enough in defence when I’ve watched him.
He’s one that could become a decent SL 13 over the next 5 years but his game needs alot of work vs to get there.
If he plays he will 100% get my support ofcourse but we need more at 13.

That's the bit I don't get. You say he can't pass and has no running game and even say he misses tackles but then say he might develop into a good 13?
In answer to the question about Proctor. He is clearly having a problem with fitness but he has a good pass and not only never misses a tackle but clear hurts opponents when he hits them.
I'd like him to do more minutes and make more yards but ultimately he is a second row playing as a middle.....and clearly, his lack of fitness is why he's at Wakefield not NRL.
I wouldn't renew but he clearly has more skills than Crowthervto me.

I’m giving more leniency with him being a trinity product than I’d afford others tbf with that comment. Some forwards really blossom late into their 20s, Crowther might be one of these so I don’t want to write him off completely. It’s perhaps a hope with Crowther that in what should be his prime years that he could develop those skills to make a good 13, I say might because it would be a gamble from where he is now in term of skill levels.
As for Proctor, he only does 25/30 minutes or so but during that he really does put himself about so I’ve no issue with him. Agree about his lack of fitness. He does put in repeat tackles one after another.

For me he can pass, clearly or he would not have covered at 9. Distribution not as good as a natural 9 but okay for cover. Safe enough hands for a 13 at first receiver, but again never going to be quite as effective as say Westerman was.
We'll have to agree to disagree, I would have Crowther as more skillfull and contributing more in the squad and on the pitch over Proctor any day. Only thing I would have in Proctor's favour is that he doesn't seem to come up with many drop balls, which is something Crowther could improve on. That said, when you only take 4 carries in a game, you're less likely to knock on..

Passing from 9 under little pressure for the most part is not the same as receiving the ball within a set play/move with runners and options available. 13 is rarely first receiver either, they are usually second/third and provide a link up or to engage the line and then pass to either a pivot to shift play to the edges or to a runner. Westerman often took the ball to the line and passed before contact once engaging defenders. That’s imo what a 13 should be doing. Not head down driving it in as Crowther does.
He’s a trinity product and honestly I want him to succeed. I’m not sure he will if he can’t improve this side of his game though. This is just my opinion ofcourse from what I’ve seen. He does have time on his side though over the next 5-8 years.
If we are looking at loose forwards then Jake Wingfield would be a good target though maybe not short of suitors.

Even if he were we wouldn’t and shouldn’t find out as fans. Something like that could likely be covered with injury news or a loan deal to another team.

This is a list published (I realise that some of the press don’t actually do any research pre publication )

But tanginoa and whitbread aren’t on the list - also eseh but am assuming that’s because he’s not a big name
