I can't find a leeds and wakey shirt for 23 that look remotely similar, one is dark blue with yellow piping and a big daft white band across the middle and the other is blue and pale blue stripes with gold piping and gold sponsor lettering, which I might add, looks excellent.
Either post examples of this offensive wakey/leeds shirt or I'm gonna go ahead and start a gofundme page in pursuit of monies to buy a new life for the thread starter, clearly a troubled individual.

Leeds have just released their away strip which is a single colour design using Turquoise. Some of their fans love it some don't.

No clash with our Home shirt for the game next year though.

I thought the main thrust of the op was that the Wakey shirt looked like the Leeds shirt, which it clearly doesn't.
I imagine there would be no clashes of home/away shirts anywhere in SL since all semblance of colour/team association goes out the window for away kits.
Regardless, I think the 23 kit is great and I dump this thread in the off season can't think of anything worthwhile to moan about bin.

I think those like myself who are comparing it with Leeds rhinos on both threads mean……it looks like “A” Leeds shirt, not “the” Leeds shirt.
Imagine looking at the shirt before any of the teams shirts were released. Who’s “home” shirt might the average RL fan have thought it was.

That isn’t Leeds 2023 shirt for a start. Trinity is for 2023.

Different colour trim. Gold for trinity, yellow for Leeds.

The sponsor in middle on Leeds shirt has a box round with colour infill. Wakey doesn’t.

The stripes on Leeds shirt don’t go to the seams across full front. The wakey top does.

The shades of blue are different from trinity and Leeds shirt.

The trinity shoulders have full block colour. Leeds has stripes/segmented.

The colour location is different. Trinity starts with dark first stripe. Leeds lighter.

The trinity has more of a v neck than a round.

The sponsors are different along with the badge.

That’s just me having a quick look in no particular detail.

Like a Leeds shirt, not an exact replica. It's OK, you can like the shirt whilst also accepting it has a touch of loiner to it. I do.

Sales going well so no doubt the next complaint will be that we didn't order enough L size as these have apparently sold out already.

I know you're desperate to defend the shirt because you like it, but those are nitpicking details.

I'll put it another way. If Leeds released our shirt the season after the one in the picture, the Leeds fans would say, "it's just the same as last years, but with gold instead of yellow."

You say not picking details but theyre factual differences and some quite significant imo. I’d say that the ones saying it’s a Leeds shirt are the ones ‘nitpicking’.

I’ve just posted facts on two photos provided that’s all. I’m yet to see someone list the similarities.

One has leeds badge and sponsors, one has Wakefield badge and sponsors enough for me to know the difference

I suppose leeds shirt this year is like our other throw back shirt with the dark blue and red/orange centre aside leeds is white box I really could not careless it’s a shirt celebrating a historic occasion the away shirt will probably be more traditional colours to appease the old and new

Be honest with yourself: your heart sank a bit when Khav posted the two pictures alongside each other. Had they been two Leeds shirts of consecutive seasons, the Leeds fans would say it was a rip-off as the design hadn't changed.

I agree to a certain extent but this isn't a traditional Leeds shirt either. If you google their past shirts, most are not even close to this one.

On its own, I like the shirt. It does make me think of Leeds rather than us but it's up to us to own it on the field.

I'd be embarrassed to wear that Leeds shirt, it looks like some youngster has been doodling and come up with that monstrosity, the Wakey shirt looks classy and is designed for a one off anniversary as simple as that, just embrace it for what it is, I bet the Leeds fans would sooner have ours if they ever told the truth.

Frankly I’m embarrassed by the reaction of some to this shirt. Mostly because it’s coming from posters who are normally sensible. Yes it’s a free country and you can say what you like and I’d not have it any other way. However other people are entitled to respond, so I will.

However marketing does. Gold Is synonymous with celebrations and anniversary - what other chuffing colour would you use!

The club has done exactly what any marketing company would tell them to do - they have done nothing wrong.

Clearly if sales are as indicted they are being proved correct. It’s clear most people have the nouse to realise it’s a one off for a hugely obvious reason, 150 of them to be precise.

If people can’t see that for what it is then I’ve given them far to much credit.

If you don’t like the design don’t buy it, your choice, but why slag it off for no other reason than it’s a bit like ONE previous Leeds shirt, for crying out loud. Take a look at what Leigh have done, now there is something to get upset about - you don’t know how lucky you are.

I was being honest. I’ve seen it many times now and I don’t even in the slightest associate it with Leeds. And honestly no, my heart didn’t sink because there’s so many differences between the shirts from colour/design/and content on the shirt why would it. Added to the fact it’s a superior shirt than the Leeds on posted by far.

I don’t know how you say the design is the same: There’s no stripes on shoulders. The bands go all the way round to the sides across the front. The colours are different shades and the colours are alternately different in their positions on the stripes/shirt. I’ve seen it again this morning and I still think what a class shirt and it doesn’t make me think of Leeds.

If you can’t shake that thought then fair enough as that’s your own personal thoughts on it. I’ve explained mine because I don’t agree and don’t see it that way (not with you personally but with a minority across some platforms going overboard imo). I guess that’s how individuals perspective works. We don’t have to agree and things like shirts generally split opinions with supporters.

Regardless what a few of us on here say. If they are selling, then it's a success.

Having seen the retro shirt, I don't really have a problem with the shirt, as the retro shirt sort of made this shirt make sense, and I made that comment on the other thread. And we've had worse, and we could be Leigh. My observations on this thread are specifically because the title is about its similarity to a Leeds shirt.

I'll put it another way: the Wakey shirt is more like that Leeds shirt than any other Leeds shirt, either before or since.

But this discussion is about similarity, not whether I would buy it or not buy it, hence my observations (I don't tend to buy replica shirts - I buy polos and t-shirts and mugs).
