I think Saints getting there bottoms kicked by Wigan yesterday suggests that we will face a stronger side than expected. It was good though.

He benefited from a perfect storm early on, Brian Smiths recruitment and strict regime set it up nicely for a more lackadaisical Chester to reap the rewards. Sts, Wigan, Leeds, Warrington, Catalan, Huddersfield all went through a couple of seasons of poor form for one or more reasons, that allowed the likes of us, Cas & Salford to threaten the top 6. Kear then shored up the Chester regime for a season but once he left there was a speedy decline and deterioration.
So unlike Willie Poching who has a very decent winning % stretching back to late last season, Chester had plenty of time to prove to everyone (almost) how utterly awful he was as a coach.'"

Wigan really beat them up , would think they will be minus Walmsley and Hurrell as both looked like they picked up injuries to me. |

The team will be a hybrid team I'd imagine. There were 8 players who didn't play in either the first team or senior academy game.
Hill, Martyn, Moss, Royle, Baxter, Pemberton, Delaney, Norman. Hill is injured I believe, but most of the other 7 look likely to play against you. Simm, Hurrell and Walmsley were obviously injured against Wigan and the idiots at the RFL have banned Knowles and Sironen.
I'd expect the likes of LMS, Batchelor, Lussick and Bennison to play, potentially Lees, Paasi and Wingfield too.

I would suggest a few things that will help us to match Salford's "impressive" season in which they have garnered 8 more points than us.
1. Go through the season with a very low number of injuries as Salford have done.
2. Get Warrington and Hull to implode again opening up a top 6 space.
3. Have a veto on certain referees who have destroyed several of our games with their bizarre refereeing.
4. Play from a ground that Sky want to feature - nearly there.
5. Don't pay our way as a club and spend the money on players we can't afford in the hope that someone comes along and bales us out.
6. Try not to play Leeds without a single available centre and having two second rows making their debuts it that extremely difficult position. |
