Strange one to predict this; because we've been on a dreadful run, then bounced back with a 50odd point drubbing against HKR, who were truly terrible apart from a 20 minute purple patch, without really playing especially well.

Shudds have always been our bogey team - and although I think Broughy is pretty much a busted flush these days, he's just the type to play a blinder in a game like this; and they will potentially have that new coach effect to bring to the party.

I agree with other posters, one thing about Broughy is that he can get stuck in either within or outside the laws of the game. If we can 'persuade' him to get stuck in outside the laws of the game there is the chance that Huddersfield may not function as well as they could.

Running pp at gale a few times sorted him out but not the rest of the cas team who were more up for the game than us .No disrespect to Huddersfield but they aren’t Cas and haven’t the players of that quality throughout the team .We should have more than enough fire power to see us home as long as we are in the right frame of mind .

Big chance for Jowitt this, bit harsh to judge him on the Cas game but this one might be a better chance to judge him.

I'm totally happy with his attacking game and his ability under the bomb. He reads the game well but his tackling is still a bit suspect in my eyes. That said Grix missed a couple of sitters so it happens to them all.

The tactic itself worked perfectly, although nobody wants to see players suffer long term injuries.
However, the team performance was so utterly poor in offence, that we couldnt take advantage of Gale being in the stand.

The basics of ball control and set completion still apply but, IF we can attack as we did on Sunday AND nullify their attack, we should make it into the next round.
Having said that, this is Wakefield and our default position is always to falter, when expected to go well, especially against Shudds.

You can't have an attacking game if you're turning the ball over whilst in possession, not completing and giving penalties away.
That was the 1st half against HKR.
2nd half it got tidied up, attacking play does not just appear in isolation, you have to give yourself the platform from which to execute, and that's the hard stuff, completion and defense.
HKR didn't get much of a look in 2nd half, they were still dangerous all the way through but their opportunities were limited, just like ours have been over recent games.

Well you might think so- but we have an excellent magic weekend record- only Wigan has better by one point and so far we are unbeaten at St James’ Park.
