I'd say it's looking like Dewsbury could be on the agenda, Dewsbury's chairman says we're in talks with them, plus MC has stated somewhere that someone has put a bid in to the BOI for BV.

| Sheffield Eagles have played at several grounds over the years and have a fraction of Trinity's support but will have their own stadium by next year Olympic
Legacy Park apparently...going full time professional in October 2015 as well.
It's a travesty that some cities have several professional sports clubs within it and Wakefield City are due to have none by December 2015.
I'd rather the team move 9 miles south to Barnsley FC if it goes out of the city as there will be a chance of increasing the fan base even more over the year. Great facilities as well although probably more expensive option.

That stand-off worked out well for us then. That's a lot of history down the tubes.
If we're looking at fault, I suppose it goes back to the "company" who bought the ground in the hope we'd get another, paid for by someone else. Did the club get full market value?
What's gone has gone, I guess, but it's looking like we've had our last hurrah. We can't survive on small crowds and then we move to a ground that can't hold more than 5,000.
On the other hand, it might prompt some action in the Town Hall. When I say action, I mean Peter Box thumping the air and chanting, "I'm Cas until I die."

That is not the view of our beloved council though is it. they are more than happy with what they will have left.
They will then be able to put all their resources into one club which will become the flagship for the local authority.

| I agree its a shame that the City of Wakefield will be left without any professional sporting club , but I also think the council don't care. I have said before our City was recognised all over the UK for its training facilities for nurses, Police and prison officers, The prison and Wakefield Trinity.
I am proud to be from Wakefield and cant wait to arrive home , The council just don't seem to recognise the significance of Trinity

That's the problem with our council, those in control do not give a t0$$ about Wakefield or anything to do with it. The only time half of them come into the City is to show their faces at the monthly council meetings to justify their expenses.
If it were places like Knottingley,South Elmsall,Ferry Fryston etc they might be interested, but Wakefield means absolutely nothing to the majority of them.

| Belle Vue is a dump, the sooner its flattened the better. Get to Dewsbury asap and keep the pressure on Box to keep the councils promises re Newmarket. If Box wanted Newmarket to be built it would be built.

Barnsley were though going to charge Rotherham RU 250k a year to use oakwell, so you'd expect the same would apply to use. Given thats the figure Carter has said is already crippling us then it doesn't seem like Barnsley will be an option. Apparently Barnsley also wanted them to drop Rotherham from their name!

| The Council (Box) are definitely interested in the demise of Wakefield Trinity and the move outside the City. For years they've stated their inability to act because there's 3 clubs in the WMDC. Well soon they'll be only 2, with just one of them being top flight.
Happy Days!!!

| Even after your worst season in years your average attendance is more than the 3300 capacity at dewsbury.so if you improve under brian smith as it looks like your doing you wont be able to get more than 3300 paying customers at any home game which surely cant sustain a sl side (without a sigar daddy)long term

| OK as a temporary measure especially if Trinity are relegated. A club killer over an unspecified period of absence from the city. I certainly wouldn't be wasting money on improving someone else's ground, not that Trinity have any. The transfer of the north stand and boxes would cost a fair wack so I guess they will remain.
Shows how far as a club we have fallen to be the junior partner in a share with Dewsbury.
Sad times.

I don't know but at a guess I would say that might be Barnsley Council and not the club itself.

| The actual playing surface is small and even we will need a ground with a capacity above 3300. I cannot see how this can be increased in fact it was not that long ago that part of the stand was condemned. If it is to try to put more pressure on the council it is not a good one.
I fear we have not handled the Belle Vue situation very well by thinking that by resigning it would thrust the Bank into immediate negotiations. We have now given them a property with no tenants which make it a much more saleable to buyers.
The question I would ask is how would you feel if Ted Or Glover had suggested leaving Belle Vue and sharing with Dewsbury.

I tend to agree with quite a lot of stuff that you post, however on this one I am on the side of Michael Carter. For a start Ted and Glover were never in the position that MC is now in so that point is really irrelevant.
Secondly Belle Vue is no longer a viable option. I am lead to believe that even if we wanted to remain there it would be financially impossible. Even if we got a rent reduction , Box would have his health and safety henchmen down at the ground demanding more safety work to be carried out that we could not afford. The place is falling to bits and it has had its day.

| I didn't know the issues with Barnsley FC if correct.
I'd say Trinity need a ground that has a capacity of around at least 5000 if it's going to be a SL side next year.
The club could do with a lift...Brian Smith committing to the club for next season would do it!

| dewsbury's ground holds just over 5,000 doesn't it? just had a new terrace built behind the sticks
plenty of car parking around there too so it should be fine.

| How long has Belle Vue been crumbling and in a tired, sorry state? 25, 30 years, maybe longer?! Probably one of the catalysts for it's demise was the pulling down of the wooden stands(s) after the Bradford City fire, I think that's when they came down but not actually sure. When have the council ever been truly supportive or bothered about us. How many artists impressions of a new ground have we all seen down the years?! I remember in Sir Rodney Walker's time as chairman seeing grandiose plans that came to nothing as per usual. That was 20 years ago and we are no nearer to having a new stadium, yet in that time how many other stadiums have been built either sharing with a football team or purpose built for rugby? This was inevitable that's the sad thing, the day would come when we basically had nowhere to play because of lack of foresight, or apathy or whatever, probably living off past glories and not being brave or just burying heads in the sand and not looking further ahead than the next season.
One of the great things about our club is it's heritage and history, but it's also one of our negative points because it's like we were so successful in the 60's primarily, it's like we live off that all the time, in my opinion spending too much time looking back recalling past glories than worrying about the here and now and the future. I said earlier it was inevitable, but it really shouldn't have been if past directors, chairmen and the council had got their heads together 15, 20 years ago and looked ahead to now, instead of probably glorifying the past a bit too much.

| Just looked up the Dewsbury Rams ground...small pitch but decent stands, not terribly bad corporate...could definitely benefit from a roof at the terraced end, a corporate block at the other end and a floodlight upgrade.
Where on Earth could they get that from though???

| Shocking news!!! After supporting Wakefield Trinity for 59 years I think it is now time for me to take stock of the situation and seriously consider my future as a Trinity supporter. I find it unbelievable that some folk on here are looking at the prospect of moving to Dewsbury with glee. We will go the same way as the Oldhams, Swintons and Yorks of this world and disappear into similar obscurity. No disrespect to Dewsbury but it is NOT Wakefield. I would have grudgingly gone along to Fev (Wakefield MDC) or Barnsley (good ground and other facilities), but Dewsbury is too retrograde a step to take. A very sad day!

| If this is anything other than a last ditch attempt to flag up the clubs dilemma then I despair.
The procession of owners from back to the eighties should be rounded up & their heads impaled on Chantry Bridge.
Sporting disappointment I can cope with, after all it's the only thing I’ve ever known, but the mismanagement of the clubs infrastructure, by a succession of owners, is truly scandalous.
I know, why not move to Owl Lane & call the club Dewsbury Trinity, I’m sure that little tag line would give a few a warm nostalgic glow & let them feel part of the final solution.
