| Quite hard to nail down a top 5 even though I only watched in the late 80's early 90's and then most of SL.
Danny Brough
Nigel Bell
Solomona
Ellis
Poching
Honorable mentions Ali,Demetriou, Domic, Morrison, Tim Smith, Kirmond and Amor
If they played more games for us I'd have thought about Wright, Henry Paul and maybe Shane Tronc as well.

One of my favourite players. There was so much more to come from him
Terry Newton was a great but sadly only played in a handful of matches before his sad passing

| David Solomona - For me the finest player to grace the shirt.
Willie Poching - Who when we signed him - all class.
Nigel Bell - Red, white & blood.
Darren Fritz - Skinny legs, bit of a gut, giant of a player.
Henry Paul - Teenager who single-handedly kept us up.
As ever.....it's all about opinions!

How many of those tries did Ray Batten set up for him. Batten great loose forward.

I love the fact that it's all about opinions!
Solo was a great player IMO, but a top 5? I couldn't choose between so many that have graced our club, so I will stick with just the one favourite, player and coach, Toppo! Wish he were still around!

We'll beg to differ, most talented player I've ever seen in a Trin shirt.
However that's the rub - as most fans today are not old enough to remember the 1970's let alone the 1960's then the choices are bound to be SL heavy.
I suspect the best Trinity player of all time was Jonty Parkin but no one on here can eye witness that. Ditto the 60's players who should probably make up an entire top 10 but again people who recall them are now thin on the ground.
I reckon if you listed all the players mentioned on here opposition fans would go for either Solomona or Paul, because they were the ones who had the class to play for any team rather than be a RWB hero like say JD - genuine stars in other words.

Don't get me wrong, I really rate Solo, and he would be in a group of my favourite players of all time - I just couldn't separate him from so many others who I have enjoyed watching, either for their skill, their effort, their journey, their development or for many other reasons.
We should ask feline for her list on here, she has a soft spot for almost all of them!
I know it's controversial, and I know I wasn't party to the dealings which led to him leaving, but I will be one of those who lament us not being the club through which Lucas Walshaw will continue his journey. Many of us were enjoying watching him develop into a star of our own making, and he seemed, to me, to have what it takes, as it is, I will be on terraces in 48 hours time supporting the stars of today and hoping that some of them will be remembered when future threads like this appear!
Happy Christmas one and all!

I watched Trinity in the 60's with my dad & the only two players since then who would get anywhere near ths top 10 for me would be David Topliss & Wally Lewis.
My grandad said Jonty Parkin was the second best player he had ever seen. The best he said was Lewis Jones.

Quite possibly so. .
Jonty Parkin is perhaps the only historical Trinity player who might challenge Neil Fox for that honour. While Neil has the record of All Time greatest point scorer in the games history, Jonty is the only man to have Captained 2 back to back Great Britain Lions tours of Australia & New Zealand. He is also one of only a handfull of players to have been selected for and completed 3 Great Britain Lions tours as a player.
They're both amazing players whom the club is rightly proud of!

| Not taking anything away from the greats of the past, but Shane Tronc was one of the classiest players of the modern era - if we could have held on to him, he would have been one of the best props in SL and by now, would either be at Wigan, or back in the NRL.
