| I understood the change to an earlier kick off time had something to do with our corporate hospitality, so that patrons could have their meals earlier. Perhaps I may have dreamt this.

| If people don't get their hands in their pockets and buy some season tickets, the kick offs will stay at 3pm.
The future of the kick offs is in our hands!

What utter garbage!!!
The decision has been made by our chairman and unless nobody turns up then it ain't going to change.

Ok,ok. Your right, I'm wrong.
The chairman did make the decision due to the economics of the club and if it saves on electricity, he's taken a decision that will help the club. And went towards saving it.
Who knows how much and hour and a half of electric costs to run 4 floodlight towers?
Do you?
If the economics of the club improve over the next couple of seasons, our chairman maybe open to suggestions regarding the kick off time from the fans.

| Quote ="Theboyem"Seriously to save on floodlights? Really? The only time this make a blind bit of difference is before the clocks go forward. Taking this season as an example we had four home games before that point, one of which was an evening game on sky anyway. So thats one and a half hours of difference on electricity usage. If we are that desperate that we changed our historic start time for that then we may as well pack it up.'" so you think footing a £30k plus electricity bill is acceptable then,
how about this one the last regime left on the toilet flush system on all close season so wasted gallons of water flushing its self so the water bill was higher than it should of been, you look after the pennies the pounds build up

I assume that 30K is overall. How much has actually been saved by moving the KO?

| Being realistic about this it is absolutely impossible to choose a day and time to suit everyone. Some may work Sat
/Sun therefore Friday nights suits.
If Sunday is the day which suits most there are still those who have to juggle work/family commitments around the game.
Fortunately for me I have an extremely understanding wife( likes to get rid of me Sun aft.) and a nuclear family who grew up within or married into and adapted to to match day culture.

It has saved an hour an a halfs electric, the saving will have been negligible and not worth the change imo. Still just my opinion.
The second part is stupid yes but what it has to do with kick off times i don't know.

| I've enjoyed the 3:00 kick offs, not too long to wait before setting off and an extra half hour at home in the evening. I watch a lot of junior rugby in the morning, normally taking in at least 2 games, afterwards to kill some time I grab a bite to eat somewhere and head straight to Belle Vue. If we we were to go back to 3:30 the extra time between watching games in the morning and setting off to Trinity means I have to go home first and then set off out again.

| There will be no doubt winners and losers when things are changed, and generally people don't like change.
I prefer 3pm, as when I'm over there we have Sunday dinner in the evening so it gives time to cook when we get home. Over here it means I can follow the match and be in bed by midnight
I don't think it's the floodlight saving, although every little helps. According to this:
[urlhttp://www.britishgas.co.uk/business/blog/how-much-do-floodlights-cost-clubs/[/url
it costs £205 to light a game, which is not really that significant. Perhaps we could invest in LED floodlights in the new/upgraded stadium?
I think it is more likely to enable meals for the corporate before the game to be at a more suitable time, who knows?
Or maybe just the Chairman's preference?

| As Coco has said, it's more about routine.
Most people have a routine for match day. Whether it's having to get stuff done before the game or, having time to do things afterwards, it's all about routine.
The many small changes that have been made this season, where you can enter the ground, smoking, access to the various bars, drinks policy, where you can stand etc., etc. disrupt everyone's routine. and many of the changes appear to have happened for little or no reason and based on the fact that our support base like a moan, it all does nothing to improve the match day experience.
The club need to do all that they can to encourage supporters to turn up every week and make the home games as enjoyable as possible and although they have made massive strides in stabilising the club as a whole and ensuring that we have a club to support, some of the small changes have alienated fans, rather than encouraging them.
Our group always had a couple of pints before the match in the bar at the bottom of "the flats" but with the changes to access, we now meet in one of the pubs close to the ground and unfortunately the price of a few pints goes over the counter elsewhere.
This happened purely because we were unable to be sure if we could get into certain places within the ground.
We had done this for many, many seasons but this season it became a lottery.
As for KO time, it doesn't matter too much as long as the club sticks with it but, people do need to get used to it and for each person that it helps, it probably hinders someone else.
Perhaps if there had been better communication ie the kind of savings that Snowie mentioned, perhaps people would have better understood the reason for change.

Exactly.
Better clarification and communication will be helpful for next season.
I've always had a few pints before (and during) the game in the past but since the changes in smoking policy and
generally not being sure of access to bars etc I go somewhere else before the game and enter BV at 2.55pm.
Thats my choice but I would rather be giving my money to the club, so a better understanding of policies and definitive
rules would be a lot better.

| I prefer 3pm since it means I can hear more of the RL coverage on Radio Leeds on the way home. I used to dislike trying to figure out the scores and stories when I began my drive home at around 5:20pm and had missed most of the coverage.
As for Friday night kick offs for home games it is a big, fat NO from me. Don't want it and hope we don't take this route.
I notice in recent years, even without Sky coverage the home match against Leeds has been moved to Fridays e.g. last season.
