Long gone are the days when a CCup final turned a club around or built them a new stand - I suspect compared to Cas or our own debt it's a help but not a cure by any stretch. Ditto the play offs.

I suppose the real benefit will be in season ticket sales and sponsorship deals/packages for next years - something both clubs are not due to their crap facilities able to capitalise on is a way Saints or Hull FC are.

Wakey gave me a chance in their academy a few years back now and since then I've always taken an interest. I'm actually quite suprised how few Cas trolls have been on here considering we've had our best season for quite some time. I thought I'd be cringing daily at ridiculous "world beater" comments, but they've been quite scarce; thankfully.
Both teams will have had the same aspirations at the start of last year and I'm pretty sure they'll have the same again for next year. I said at the start of the season that I didn't feel that there was too much between the two squads and I stand by that. The difference has been between Powell & agar, in my opinion, and I wouldn't be at all suprised if wakey went on to have a really good year next year.

On a side note I'm really pleased that the nastiness of the wright versus glover/elston era appears to be gone. Steve gill & Michael carter both seem to realise that we need each other and the fans are buying into the rivalry rather than hatred. Good work everyone!
