They won't. They'll be scared of Koukash taking his ball home.

| Well done to one and all and to the travelling entourage too. There's no greater feeling than getting those updates when you;re dj'ing and giving out the score over the mic to all the fans in the pub. What a record we have against Widnes, had a sneaky feeling we'd do it tonight, glad it's all coming together, can't wait to watch the Cas game next week, it should be an absolute cracker.

| I don't go home and away like I did when I was 18. But I've seen a bit of RL now and Trinity under Agar. I've been Agar out. Why? When he has all his players available he has picked the wrong ones in the wrong positions. Look, I was not there tonight, nor at Hull. I hold my hands up. But I note, Walshaw (loaned out and neglected ad infinitum and played awesome game v Wigan last year that I DID watch) in centre and Ryan forced to move to centre by injury, change things big time...this is de ja vu end of Agars first season...forced to change...7 match winning streak...then what?... I want us/ AGAR to achieve but his seeming love of players like Lyne just seems incomprehensible. 2 amazing results...great, I am pleased...carry on I care not for my opinions, only Trinity success, but for me, we need to see a lot more before in agar we trust...a LOT more

| Do you think you could be basing your opinion of Agar on what was reported by the Hull supporters when he became our coach. All these so called experts fail to take into consideration the fact that he was asked to build new competitive teams. He was also the one who signed the players he was forced to sell at the end of the season for which we received transfer fees which helped keep the club going.

I still stand by what I have said in the past though, despite people forgetting the form from Hull KR to Huddersfield. It's going to be interesting next week, Cas will want to get back to winning ways, and I hope we intend to avenge the Good Friday defeat with similar defensive resolve that was on show tonight.'"
How many consistent performances will it take to change your mind?

| Pleased for Agar he's copped a lot of stick lately (some of it justified) but he's certainly hit back where it counts.

I love this. For the agar out lot of which I still am - we where unthinking, unloyal, knee jerk reaction merchants who only gave agar half a season and the previous two as well
Now two wins on and all is well and we are it a d Afars utterly stupid team selections vindicated - yet no knee jerk reaction here after 2 wins is there.
Give it a rest - the points made against agar by many still stand even if upthecats won't have any dissent on the forum.
Every season under agar we get a dreadfull start - a short winning run - an early ccup exit and a poor finish.
If that's what you want fine it cas have shown as did kear what can be achieved on a small budget - maybe I'm too ambitious

More than two that's for sure.
Maybe we are seeing reverse knee jerking.
That sounds a bit wrong mind.

Absolutely spot on. It's funny to watch some people after two victories start to say it justifies keeping Agar. Let's hope it's not a flash in the pan like the 7 game winning streak we had to get us into the playoffs (because of Bradford's points deduction).

| So its 2 wins and we keep Agar then because hes the best coach going and all that.
Well I for one don't judge Agar on what the Hull fans said of him before/when he came to us just look at the played/won/lost ratio.Cant blame not fit enough reason as we have same people on that side as last 2 seasons it was because we didn't effect the tackle good enough and were constantly having to run back and do more tackles than normal.Just look at our defence over the last 2 seasons its not been cracking more so out wide but we did manage to score plenty of points to secure some wins.Agar reminds me of Kevin Keegan when at Newcastle cant defend so try and out score the opposition.Of course Im delighted with the 2 wins and hope the boys can make it 3 on the trot and eventually we will see who is right about Agar as a coach when at the end of his tenure we look at the won/lost ratio but at the moment its not in his favour.

That's fair enough and long may it continue. I have nothing to gain by Agar being crap - so if he's sorted himself and his team out then good because he needed to.

But it’s not absolutely spot on though is it?
Vasty states we have a poor start & a pathetic cup run, true enough, but as to a poor finish!
Agar has only been in charge for two finishes & in one of those we had our best run for God knows how many years.

Re-building the team in the off season isn't conducive to a good start either.

True 2012 was good after a poor start though we did if we are honest bomb out after a good first 30 mins against Leeds in the first half.
2013 was actually crap IMHO - we beat a few teams on the bounce but other than that we never looked top 8 despite Agar having his team and not a team he partly inherited - it was after all his second season which should in theory be the better one.
This year is panning out the same as I can't really see a 6+ match winning run can you?
So 10 or 11 again. It's not that I think Agar is dreadful I just don't see the spark to move us on even with some mitigating circumstances in his favour. I absolutely hope he proves me so so wrong.

| In the balance of fairness how can Agar be judged on his complete time at the club?
He's had to build two completely different sides....how many other coaches have had to do that, and what would their win percentage be?......the simple facts are there for all to see.....
Season 1 - Had to build from scratch after a side ripped apart....signing players who nobody else wanted....we got off to a poor start....which was understandable with the amount of new players.....as the team grew our performances improved, culminating in a 7 match winning streak at the end of the season nabbing us a play off place.....we went to Headingley to face the greatest Super League team of the last decade in knockout football and gave a very good account of ourselves....especially judging on some of the absolute thrashings we have seen at that stage from other teams.....
On the whole then Agar had a brilliant first season in my eyes.....talked of in many quarters as coach of the year stuff....
Season 2 - Obviously after that superb finish to the previous season hopes were high that we would improve further and follow up what we did and get in the play offs again.....the signings he made to try and strengthen looked good on paper and we were set for another decent crack at a play off place.....it was an up and down season (aren't they all!) but at crucial times there were a few games that just got away from us...Hudds at home with the disallowed late try.....Leeds home and away....losing by a score....just a few things that had they gone the other way we may well have backed up the season before and got in the play-offs.....Taulima Tautai came in when it looked like we needed a much needed signing to boost us....and he had a great first game....but was in and out after suffering from injuries etc which was frustrating......lets not forget also that all things at the club were not quite as rosy as were being portrayed to us fans.....could that have had a slight affect on things?
Overall though it has to be said after the previous excellent season it was a bit of a let down....so that gives him one good season....one not so good....
Season 3 - Jury is obviously still out but yet again a squad ripped apart due to financial problems....and to be fair to Richard...a few of his signings and players who he got the best out of (Tim Smith for example) helped us out in a huge financial way when having to sell....so another bit of a pat on the back has to be given there.....anyway....with practically no pre-season....players arriving just days before our first game....3 or 4 more crucial players signed since then and having to shuffle around....experiment etc....then it was always going to take time....I dont think the fixture list helped us in this (or the cup draw)....at a stage in the season where we were having to try new things our fixtures were Leeds twice...Hudds away....Cas at home (who have had a brilliant start).....there was gradual improvement in those fixtures while all the time combinations and new experiments were starting to pay off....
I remember saying in the last big defence I made of Agar that we had a nice break going into the Hull game....a bit more time to work on things and time to freshen the players up a bit.....I said lets judge a bit more after the next 4 games when things should start to improve....looking at those 4 fixtures back then I would have been happy with one win from 4 and 3 decent performances.....so far though we have won 2/2 and there is no reason now we cant go on and win at least one of the next 2 or even both of them.....
When there was talk of sacking him and bringing in the likes of Glenn Morrison....I always thought to myself why? Agar already has a proven track record with a thrown together side at the last minute....one getting off to a slow start and improving as the season goes on....it's exactly what happened in the first season....he was for me the perfect man to turn things round....the players are obviously right behind him....they have shown that for the majority of our games this season....especially the last two.....
So far then under Agar he's made the play-0ffs one season and missed the next....for a club of our size...with our finances and resources is that the worst return in the World.....do fans expect us to be chalenging top six every season?
Someone mentioned the challenge cup....well under Agar in that we aint had the best luck of the draw to be fair have we....in the last 3 seasons....we lost to Leeds away....Hull away....Leeds at home....Cas were mentioned....in the last two they've lost to Featherstone away and Leeds away....this season they are doing better....but I'm sure if Agar gets through this season and everything is still rosy financially and squad wise then surely we can expect better next year....
Hull fans apart I would love to hear the opinions of other clubs fans on how they view us as a super league club and when taking into account everything Agar has had to go through and fight against then I'd love to hear how others think he has done/is doing.......

| I found this comment from Agar a bit odd.
"We had only one interchange left at the end and were under the pump but I was pleased with our toughness, resilience and determination."
Shouldn't the idea be (if the game goes to plan) that we don't have any substitutions left, and then we "might" be "less under the pump"??

I think he meant that we only had one interchange left for the final part of the game; he seemed to rotate the props more quickly to accommodate the speed of the ipitch, then an injury towards the end forced some shuffling around.
I don't think there's much in that kc - you nitpicking barsteward.

| The one thing even the most ardent member of the Agar out fraternity must admit he does possess excellent man management skills. You can look at the way he turned the career of Cockayne around, with Smith he was allowed to play his game so to avoid adding unnecessary pressure which he is now under at Salford.
I think you must agree he gets the best out of the players and they respect him as a coach. I doubt we would still have Kirmond or Collis if they did not believe he benefits their game and they enjoy playing in the team he coaches.

| Just found this nugget of info on my Wakey fixtures that i cut out of an old League Express.
Since 2008 and up to the start of this seaon, Agar's coaching win % in SL is 44.3%, thats over 6 seasons, I'm not sure if that qualifies as scientific research.
151 games, 66 wins, 2 draws and 83 losses.
If he maintains anything like that 44.3% we should be safe, 30% a significant drop would be 16 points.
If BB's points reduction is maintained at its present level that means they would need 23 points at least to pip us, 11 wins and a draw seems unlikely based on what they've been through.

Careful Bren, when I used your very last word/phrase above on here a couple of years ago I received a strict warning from one of our board moderators. I thought it a little harsh since I was politely misquoting a delightful Salford fan.
