| Quote ="PopTart"But Tricky, you yourself have criticised Agar for tinkering but you now suggest putting a 4th different fullback in the team who hasn't played there much before. Can't have it both ways.
If Wildie is back I agree he should be in.
I'd rest Kirmond. He just looks shot. If he can be put right in two weeks then great but if he's still playing with painkilers I'd rather he sort it out.
If Tautai I'd play him instead of Kirmond.
Annakin a must for me instead of Washbrook.'"
If you look at my proposed team nobody is playing a position they haven't played before. I have given my reasons in response to Bren2k why Riley at FB.
It's Agars fault that my suggestion is the 4th FB option cos he tried 2 others there after Mathers that I wouldn't have

I've only seen him run sideways across the line and fold to the first tackler who comes out to meet him.

That's not in a broken field situation though and to be fair to him quite a lot of the team run further sideways than they do forwards that's part of the problem. The team seem to be coached to get the ball wide as quickly as possible with very few doing the hard yards or taking the ball to the line and drawing a man before they pass which ends up with very little gain on each play.

| Think Belly is almost right if a little OTT. Don't think I have been this depressed about our chances of a win for a long time and quite frankly I can't see where a win is going to come from in the near future. Still, looking on the bright side, I suppose we are conceding less each week!

| Really think we should be looking back at what has worked so far in the games we've won/really competed. Siejka creates a rudderless team and is a squad player only at the moment.
Sykes has been aggressive in the tackle and gives some creativity but not enough for stand off so should be full back as Mathers is well off form. Walshaw and Collis are the form centres and Riley and Lynne form wingers.
Sammut and Godinet in the middle looked dangerous against St.Helens. We need to try to dominate the big opposition Hull pack so I'd play all 6 props in the 17.
So based on fitness and form the 17 for Hull should be (if Agar has a pair)
1.Sykes
2.Lynne
3.Collis
4.Walshaw
5.Riley
6.Sammut
7.Godinet
8.Anderson
9.McShane
10.Moore
11.Kirmond
12. Ryan
13.Tautai
Subs. Smith, Raleigh, Scruton, Wildie

| Sammut to stay at fullback for me. Siejka and Godinet in the halves. Sykes as cover for 1,3,4,6 and not in the 17 unless we have injuries. Mcshane starting and Wildie on the bench. Don't see the need for a specialist 13 or in our case washbrook, would play one of the second rowers there. So start with Walshaw, Ryan and Kirmo. With Annakin, Wildie and 2 props. Or we could play Mr T as a loose forward if all props are fit.

| we can expect a heavy defeat with plenty of errors and pens conceded - but with a few decent 5 or 10 min spells when we score so Agar can crow about positives and things to work on and probably say again we need time to gel.
Hull just beat Landan 40-4, difference will be, we'll score more than 4.

| Quote ="vastman"Absolutely agree, utterly bizarre logic or weird dogma from said poster.
We have loads of S/R's. In Walshaw we have a big strong destructive Centre who can tackle - and a centre is what he has been most of his career.
Any other club would have had him in the centre a year ago. In Australia Walshaw would be considered a centre until he was about 25 then he'd move to the pack. Agar is happy to waste a player on a position we are well stocked and not use said player in a position he knows well.
To say Walshaw is more of a S/R than a Centre is tosh as every time he plays centre he looks bob on.
If Walshaw lack a bit of pace put a speedy winger on his outside - Riley or Lyne would do but we'd probably get Mathers.'"
Didn't I say this 2 years ago but you disagreed with me? Utilise a big strong centre, because you are big doesn't mean you are a second rower. He could be a real asset., We have wasted this lads career to be fair. Nothing would suprise me at Hull he will probably find himself out the squad or at second row. Agar is a joke and singles players out i.e. Siejka went well monday, thought Lynn had a good game. His signings he singles out. Mariano plenty of good games last year but all we got was one of signings that he singled out. Agar has to go, fed up with him.

its funny I know another lad that has had to put up with being played out of position and had his confidence totally rocked
I always remember Lee Crooks play at full back and then moving to the pack at later stage in his career

| I have said all along Walshaw is a centre Vasty and you know it! Gets his stamina sorted he is a real asset. I would back the lad one on one over the line. Would you go with Riley or Mathers at fullback? Sammut we should be building around.

| Lynn a go at fullback anyone?
Sammut and Godinet halfs. Siejka interchange. Sykes no way near team same with Washbrook. No washbrook and Sykes for the London&Catalan&St Helens games we gel. Sammut at half back gelling just nicely but Agar messed it all up playing his boyfriends at Hull KR. Scrutton until he pulls his finger out I would send the lazy bum to Doncaster or somewhere. Tautai at loose forward. Mariano would go in that team great but our beloved coach didn't fancy a 26 year old physical machine that wasn't deadwood.

It was Marriano but hey - common consent suggested Walshaw was destined for SR and he probably is, but we are short of centres and he has played Centre a lot so why waste it - he was happy to play Ryan there.

| Anybody that can predict what RFA will do should be winning the lottery every week . Even though Lubey outplayed the current England centre there will be no guarantee he will even be in the squad or even not at Dewsbury . To put a performance in as he did with the mouth injury he has was brilliant. Even after the way he as been treated by RFA with the 10 mins substitutions and the public name calling at a forum ,( 7 min WALSHAW) he is still prepared to put his body on the line. It makes me wonder if RFA wasn’t allowed to ditch every player TD & RH produced how are squad would be performing now with some ( Danny Cowling , Jordan Grayston Mattie Wildie ) of our OWN in it.

Message we'll and truly delivered to Mathers, Scruton, Washbrook and Fox that putting your body on the line is a prerequisite of being a Rugby League player at any level and because you're not doing it you're dropped: note: not rotated/rested/injured but DROPPED!
Sykes doesn't fall into that bracket IMO, he's beginning to look his age and can't quite do what he used to.

| Damm I forgot about Annakin. You could put Tautai back at prop or have Annakin at 2nd row. Tautai I would give a go at loose he is capable of making a break and can offload when people wake up and be wise to him. Agar now as 2 week to sort something out. Sick of the gelling excuse. Do something on the training pitch you MUPPET!

What form has Siejka shown to justify him as the main pivot/play maker in the team?
Sammut and Godinet have been the most creative pivots in the team so far this season. We need a strong elusive runner who can take the high ball at full back and for me Sammut can give much more than that by managing our game and directing the team around the park.
Sykes could hopefully do a job back there at full back if not then its a choice between Mathers/Riley/Siejka/Jowitt

To be fair to the lad he's only started the last couple, and that was against the team sitting 2nd in the league and last years league winners......contrast that to the two games everyone keeps going on about with the pairing of Sammut and Godinet....against London who have lost 10/10....and Catalans who probably gave the most shambolic team perfomance that day I can remember!
Lets not forget either that the golden pairing of Sammut/Godinet were together in the 6-60 defeat to Leeds in the cup....
Sammut switching to full back I think has worked and gives us a better option there than an out of sorts Mathers....Siejka certainly has the pedigree and for me has shown glimpses that he could be a real decent player for us....like all players with his background though he will need time.....the more he trains and the more he plays the better he will become for me....don't just ditch him now because he aint pulled trees up the last twice against quality opposition......
For me the 1,6, 7 for Hull should be Sammut, Siejka, Godinet....

| The games I have seen Fox puts his body on the line each time he plays, especially taking the ball up. How long do you seriously expect the young players would survive they are just not physically ready for week in and week out rugby.
