| Quote ="jonh"Why because I don't rate a player but hope he proves me wrong?! Interesting take on condescending.
In relation to Lynn who seems to be the brunt of a lot of stick he on average makes 2 errors a match so far this year according to the official stats.
On the other hand he is also by far your biggest meter maker with 398 (2nd place is just over 300) he averages 5 meters a carry more than any other player in the team he is leading your tackle busts by far and he has 1 missed tackle to his name.
In Riley you will not get the meters although he probably will be a bit busier. You will not get the busts, but you will still get the defensive problems and errors.
Last year in a more dominant team Riley was averaging 7m a carry compared to Lynn this year with over 11, making 2 errors a game in line with Lynn.
It is a big responsibility on the other members of the team to make up for the go forward that you will lose if Lynn does not get a game.
By all means have a go at my opinion, but I also think it is a little harsh on Lynn who whilst yes has made some eye catching errors also contributes more to the team I feel that Riley will in a positive way.
The reaction of the Wire fans is also fairly telling. Hardly sorry to see him go.'"
FWIW I don't disagree about Lynne although I missed the Wigan game. He's been singled out because he's seen as Agar's love child. That said although he has all the attributes someone posted before questioning his heart and there is some truth in that, although I think that is something he can work on

I just don't see what Riley brings to the table over him in relation to a positive contribution to the team effort, other than a bit more enthusiasm.
It just seems an odd move to me altogether, but as I said I hope he proves me wrong and is a success.

He can catch a ball, more than the others

| I hope that he goes well for you, he can finish when given a fair opportunity which isn't always the case at Wire with Monaghan on the other wing as the go to wide guy.
His frailties in defence are as much about playing outside Atkins IMO than his alone. This break from being our scapegoat might just be the thing he needs....hope so

| Not sure If this means BJB loan is now off we might still get him as will play in a number of positions and still would be stronger than what we currently have.

| I actually think this is a great and shrewd signing. Riley could be just what we need. On paper I honestly think the squad we have right now is fantastic. It's going to be a real test of Agars ability to get the best out if these player's. Fail and his excellent recruitment could be his own downfall

| To Jonh:
Riley does bust tackles, but because you don't see him play every week you don't see it.
In the initial break stats, he came 8th in the whole league behind players like Charnley, Tomkins, Sammut and Carney.
Riley is a good atttacking winger, also slots into Fullback and has a safe pair of hands and can catch a ball on his toes, and he's quick, quicker than a lot of people realise, in fact over the length of a pitch quicker than Penny.
I remember him catching Pat Richards on an interception from the OPPOSITE wing on a flat start compared to Richards on the fly.
Rileys problems are in defence, he has the turning circle of an Aircraft carrier and switches off at times in the defensive line. Having Atkins on the inside of him though makes him look worse than he actually is.

| For all the ifs buts and why's I think the real reason is to make some of the players in the team realize that there not indispensable , great tactic if if it works but what happens if they spit the dummy , I would really like to see walshaw given a real go first if fit , with others in the right positions , but the lad from wire is a strong winger who is a proven try scorer , I would love to see lynn play well week in week out and back himself more , some don't think he has the heart to do it , but theres plenty of sportsman in history who have discovered there bottle and plenty who have lost it , still puzzled by agars choices he's like chef of ready steady cook all the ingredients and serves a ommlete , just my opinion

I think that's key; Atkins is all over the place defensively - it must be a nightmare trying to cover him.
This is a good signing - loads of experience at the top level and the right attitude; sends a message to the incumbents that they need to shape up.
Good work MC.

| Good broken play winger, was a bit ropey when he first came on the scene but has proved to be a good SL winger and finisher.
120 tries in 180 apps takes some beating.
Think he is a victim of how Warrington are evolving as a force in SL.

| I really couldn't give a monkeys what the Wire fans, or John, think. I've seen Riley plenty enough to know he's a decent winger who can finish well and he plays an honest game. I have often thought that he gets a bum deal at Wire and am very pleased to have him here, even for a short period.
In fact, I think we've made generally good signings this year with the biggest question mark over Luke Briscoe who, in all honesty, is not yet as good as our senior players, despite his obvious talent. Otherwise, we've done really well.
I do still wonder if there is a centre or winger we could have brought in from the Championship on a full time deal rather than have so many loanees in the backs?

| I agree TRB.
I rate him on previous games but most of all I think we should be judging him on his performance for us.
I'm looking forward to the game tomorrow.
I predict Riley will get at least one try.

| One thing is for sure he knows how to get over that line and put the ball down.He will obviously be giving it a go as Im sure he wants to get back in the wolves side and it gives him game time and a chance to do that.
