I do know that like Cas Tigers - WTW have voted the new system in along with Salford, Leeds, Bradford, Widnes and London.

Well, looking at the teams that allegedly voted for it & the alternative that TRB has alluded to, I would suggest quite a few were up for a ten team shut out.

Apart from Leeds & Saints , the teams with the money voted against ...I wonder why ?

Maybe Sky Sports may have had some input, S.L has no sponsors and most of the teams out the top six are on the verge of going bust.

Your probably right. Both Hull clubs have publicly championed a ten team SL.

This might be the end product in a few years time. 10 teams playing each other 3 times = 27 games plus Magic (if it's still viable) = 28 games then a top 5 play-off.

I fear this is the long term agenda with Tolouse and Catalans in there on French tv contracts. This would leave 8 English clubs sharing a bigger slice of the pie.

So teams with the money ie successful owners who made money through intelligence and shrewd behaviour who know how to run a business and a sports club shouldn't be trusted yet clubs who are constantly in the crapper making bad decision after bad decision are the ones to listen to?

Wow... Just wow!

Rumours of the proposed alternative may have sounded better at first viewing - but the financial package attached would have been heavily in favour of the 'richer' clubs. Those at the top of SL would be getting a lot more money than those further down - hence the 'richer' clubs voting against the RFL proposal.

The new structure ensures a more even distribution of funding throughout the game.

We are no more likely to be relegated now than we were before yesterday as the agreement for 12 clubs was already agreed in principal and the RFL had stated up front that if the SL clubs couldn't agree then there would be 2up and 2down, so no change there. Under these proposals, should the worst happen and we do end up relegated, then we will be much better off under this structure.

There is much mirth about the new structure, and not everyone will like it, but it's not all bad news!

The report provides no insight or solution... It is an appallingly poor piece of work, delivered by incompetent people.
To base the future of our sport on that is folly, bordering neglect

As with many such pieces of work it reflects the requirements f the reports sponsor and is structured to maipulate its audience and to obtain a desired outcome, for the sponsor.

This situation required a genuinely independent review and a working party to set in place a 25 year plan for the game in the uk... At all levels, and it's interaction with the international game.

The current incumbents of power are merely custodians of the game for future generations, and should act like that. These people are thinking no further than their next pay cheque.

I haven't read every page but suggest your first form of protest should be at your own club, as they were one of the seven that voted for it. No doubt under the instruction of the Hetheringtons!!

Then again you could say, those big clubs that happen to have wealthy owners are looking after their own and not necessarily what's best for RL.
