If your happy bren to support another clubs players even though their wearing our colours so be it , I arnt sooner go in to tha championship if that's what happens but let's have our own players

I'd sooner not be in this position at all, but I'm a realist and a pragmatist; if loan players help us a) get through this situation and b) avoid relegation, then I'll take it; not a long term solution, but a reasonable interim one.

By hook or by crook Wakey need to stay up next season. It will make getting into Newmarket so much simpler (as stated by IA) if this means borrowing players then so be it. As long as they can catch, run hard and score a few trys maybe, just maybe we can convince a few to stay like Amor did after we stay up

Loan players dont necessarily go back either. Bjb for example may not get back into the leeds side with briscoe there or whoever the sign. The idea of not supporting a loan player baffles me. Did you not support Amor until he signed permanent?

Any player who wears the shirt and goes out and puts his neck on the line for our cause deserves the support. End of.

Trinity have done alright out of the loan players over the years. Atkins, Kirmond, Amor, Sykes, Mathers and Halley all contributed in some way whilst they were on loan. I'd rather have anyone of those in the side over a permanently expensive Mellars for example. I wouldn't be overly keen on the players mentioned on the other thread though as I think there are better who already either at the club or soon to be OOC.

We have a short term problem with finances which will make 2014 difficult. If we can get through that - by any legit means - then we need to do it.

You want us to produce a top quality side of our own playing in R,W & B - to do this we need to be a) in SL and b) in Newmarket - with the 2 not mutually exclusive.

Your team of choice are on the inside of the back page of today's WE. We can produce, but always seem to lose out. I want to give the club every possible chance to prove to me, our supporters and the rest of the world that we can create the environment in which these guys can stick together and take this club to success.

If all that means swallowing a little pride for the next 12 months (and bearing in mind that others are willing to assist) then that is what we must do. Our competitors will certainly do it!

Nope. Any player wearing the red white and blue is a Wakefield Trinity player. He gets my support.
I may choose to criticise him from time to time but he is a Wakefield Player. That is all there is to know.

I'm not against a odd loan player but what as been suggested on here is 4 or 5 from one club if that's not a feeder team don't know what is Paul Shane agree he's a good player but he's had more clubs than Justin rose but just because I can't support another clubs second team doesnt mean others wont

I have to agree with this. Personally the whole loan system needs looking at in my opinion. I do not believe that SL clubs should be able to loan players to each other (I can't think of a situation that merits it, but will happily change my mind if someone else comes up with one I haven't thought of). Why should some clubs sign up so many promising players (more than they can possibly accommodate) and then loan them out to other SL clubs to sit back and wait to see whether they're good enough? It also leaves the competition open to more criticism too. Clubs should put out the best squad/team that they can afford and not "foster" other clubs players potentially giving them a false position in the league.

The upside is, Leeds players give away less pens, so we win all ends up.

The reality is that we may have to depend on other teams players next year. The most important thing is avoiding relegation.

This new full time programme which im quite excited about along with the youth signed at under 16-19 level attatched to this are the future. i dont believe that those young players would stay beyond 2014 if we don't stay up. To go down next year with the debts we have would be a massive hammer blow to the club.

Brian McDermott took BJB on loan to London, so he obviously rates him.
Briscoe maybe going to Leeds but could only be for 12 months before he tries Oz out.
If we do get BJB on loan, i'd be happy.
With the emergence of Suttcliffe, Duckworth and Foster to name 3 coming through, players get replaced.Sometimes it's not the coach who decides who stays or goes.
Think the prop area is more of a issue for Leeds in the next year or so.

These players have only emerged because they have been given the chance seen them at 19level Sutcliffe looked a bit special but the others you mention looked average

That's what Leeds do, they give their juniors a chance.
Duckworth played in a Leeds side that Wake should have beaten this season, he may not be a world beater but he did what he had to do. Builds confidence, makes you want more and to perform even better next time.

You could in theory have a situation where you have developed a number of good young players in a certain position, who are still behind your own established players in that position, but who will not develop as they need to without game time at the required level. Clubs sign the best players they can afford, mostly on a need-now basis, so a lot of young and potentially very good players could fall by the wayside. Better for the good of the player and the game to loan them out and allow them to develop. Some will make it, some won't. In our case, thanks to our Wildcats Academy, those who don't will still have learned something that gives them a profession outside full time rugby league.
