No, As per the club website, they (the club) wont be stopping home fans standing on the western terrace, however, they do advise that they watch the game for another vantage point within the ground.

There is no explicit segregation at Cas, is there not? As an away fan I've stood on the side for cover and both ends when swapping at HT?

| I always pay by cash at the turnstile ,as I am not a member I cannot prove I am a Wakefield supporter. Will my Wildcats hat be sufficient for the security staff to let me into the north stand on a rainy day?.

| I've always thoroughly enjoyed standing in the West stand. I tried the North stand like most just to sample the atmosphere, but didn't particularily enjoy it. I understand what the club are trying to do, by creating an atmosphere under the North stand but it will be a logistical nightmare.
We've 2 years at BV before moving to NM why over complicate matters and make the stewards job even harder. The West stand accomodates 1,800, so what happens when Leeds, Cas or the Hull sides visit? What happens if say 500-800 Wakefield fans remain in the West Stand?
It seems a poorly thought out idea which has been pushed through. The idea behind it may be in the fans interest but it just isn't plausable.
I'll be remaining in the West stand as i'm sure will alot of Wakefield fans.

Yeah not exactly years though is it, like you previously said.
A fair idea. But let's say you play Leeds or Hull for example, on a blisteringly hot sunday & they bring 4,000 fans, what the plan going to be then? I might be a Cas fan but I know 4,000 doesn't fit in to 1800.

Neither side have brought 4,000 supporters to BV for a long time.

The point remains though, say they bring 2,000 and 500 Wakefield fans stay in the West stand. What then?

Email the club with your concerns.
I'm an Eaststander anyway!

It is happening, if you want to stay in west stand then do so it will not change a thing, I'm sure you will be happy with away fans..
Leave us that want a home stand go North simple, and like others have said I have not seen a massive away following for years..

| It'll be interesting to see how this works over the season. How are stewards going to instantly differentiate between home and away fans if they're not wearing club colours?

| I wont be going in the north stand much sooner go down the sides but the only real way they could make the north stand home fans only is put a big fence each end and make the turnstiles that end season ticket only. Some like to watch the 1st half down the side then go in the north stand for the second half.
Ok no roof where I stand but lets face it rain water is only the stuff you end up getting a bath or shower in.Now theres an idea bring a bar of soap and if it rains weekly wash sorted

Ignore the point if you wish, but the likes of Leeds, Cas, Hull FC & Hull KR have all brought more than 1,800 in recent games.

| I cant decide if this is a good move or not.
If, as one poster suggests, Cas have declared tha Railway End to be exclusively for away fans, has there been some kind of directive from the RFL or, are we just trying to improve the atmosphere on matchdays.
It has already been mentioned that the capacity of the Western Terrace will struggle to cope with the numbers of fans from Leeds, Cas and the 2 Hull clubs, so will these games become ticket only.
Our group have stood on the Western Terrace for over 20 years and IMO it is the best view in the ground, also will entry and exit via the turnstiles on the west side of the ground be open to all supporters ?

I assume so, also with he club going down this route the turnstiles on Catherine Street must be manned. For the last two seasons they were shut.
I do think the dedicated family area is a great idea though. Hopefully that will resolve the issues parents have had going through separate turnstiles to their children.

It also looks like the away fans can only use 2 turnstyles to enter the ground.
I think this is going to be a nightmare.

Cas have not made the railway end for away fans only (i stand there myself outside the supporters bar) technically away fans can still stand in any stand, the only difference from previous years is that to stand in the wheldon road end fans must have purchased a membership (this applies to both home and away fans) which start at 50 pounds, i know of several leeds fans that have purchased bronze membership as they can get 2 tickets and can make there money back in discounts and selling the cas hat, pen etc that you get with the membership pack. These away fans will be able to access the 'members stand' while many home fans will not.
Hope this clarifies things for you.
For the record i'm against this or any form of segregation as imho its only leads to trouble.

| I’ve stood on the western terrace for forty years & I’m not changing anytime soon.
The club can do all they want to encourage people to go behind the sticks, just not my cup of tea.

No there isn't as i have mentioned on a post above Castleford have one stand for members only (the wheldon road end) but away fans can stand here if they have a membership which away fans can purchase if they wish to, this has only come into effect this year.
