| The end of May cant come quick enough for me it's the most important decision in the clubs history, it's more important than winning the grand final & challenge cup all in one. We are build the club up now but if this decision goes our way we will be building the club on a bigger scale

As I see it the first of us to get PP is in pole position so hope it's us and would then love to see RW come with the begging bowl and AG telling him to do one.

I'm not sure it would be AG's decision; if NM does happen, it will be a community stadium (unlike GH) and I think the Trust operating it would agree to allow Cas to take up a tenancy.

Would also imagine if this was the case cas would be a championship club as we would have our ground hence answering all the questions asked by the RFL.

Too right. The stadium needs to generate money. It won't be built for 13 match days a year. With no insider knowlege to fall back on, I nevertheless am pretty sure that if the result of the PI is positive, Cas will be playing there as well. Maybe not for ever, but...

It's not [iour[/i ground, mate. It would belong to the community trust, and they can rent it out to whoever they like. It's as much Cas' or Fev's ground as ours... or Guiseley's...

I understand that but what I meant was if we were in NM and cas came asking it would mean they were desperate and maybe homeless.

| I would imagine that the community trust would not refuse any viable tenancy application whether from a WF post code or even further afield, after all it will need to generate some profit

Serious question . ... I have seen mention of attendances soaring , and mention of employment statstcs improving in the area if and when the new stadia are built .
Where are all these new fans appearing from ? And are these 'new' employees going to be filling newly created vacancies , apart from the ones obviously employed it newly created posts as security staff at the new site ?
Are you expecting an imminent influx of overseas unemployed RL fans coinciding with the opening of the site and the decision of a foreign business to move onto the site at Newmarket ?
Or is it more of a 'build it and they will come' fantasy ?
Build it and people will point and laugh is truly what I am expecting . Though I do wish to be proven wrong on this .

There will be warehousing, pubs, hotels and restaurants on the site which will all create jobs. The stadium and sporting facilities within it will be for the use of the whole community. These facilities are much needed in the area as WMDC don't seem to care for such things. Our crowds are up to an average of over 8,000 this season so it's not unrealistic to think a new stadium may bring in another 2,000 floating fans plus more away fans prepared to come to a better facility. Thus we should be looking at hitting that magic 10k figure. Thanks for popping by but try and make your post at least a tad humerous next time, cheers!

Do you think York Court Properties would outlay all this money based on a pipe dream. They are specialists in property re/developement and doubt they would do this without doing loads of feasibility studies. Have you seen our attendance increases thus far this season.? I am sure with a new stadium they can increase further.
Jog on you uneducated person.

What a mealy-mouthed, mean-spirited post; how very Leeds of you.
The plans for NM include warehousing and distribution, hotel and leisure facilities as well as the community stadium; estimates for new jobs and inward investment encompass not only the site itself, but the whole supply chain associated with it.
As for your dozy field of dreams analogy - it seems to have worked out ok for Warrington; certainly not an instant fix, but a vital first step in turning round the fortunes of WTW. I fail to understand your bitterness, other than perhaps the dawning realisation that Headingley will stand out like a sore thumb if WTW and Cas deliver on their respective stadium projects.

Bren you had it with one word "bitterness" - that's all it is, plain and simple. Some Leeds fans in particular seem to fear competition.

Are you for real ?
Of course crowds will increase at any new ground, even Salford have seen a "bounce" in their new stadium, not to mention Hull FC, Warrington etc.
Plenty of jobs as well, both in construction and then employment following the construction of the ground, warehousing, hotel etc
As for fantasy, it has been a very long process and perhaps without interference from our big city neighbours, perhaps this process may have been a little speedier, but certainly not fantasy.
You need to return to your favoured location "the naughty step" and wait until your carers say that you can come back and join in.

Sorry mate, but that is a hugely unfair post and one that is leaving you look rather silly!
Firstly, you do know that Wakefield's crowd average so far this season is 30% up on last year and that the crowd average is around 8250 and is currently the 9th biggest in the league... even bigger so far than Hull KR's home average. An average 8250 + crowd in a 12,000 capacity stadium will not look too shabby and it makes the target SL licensing average of circa 10,000 look very achievable for Wakefield in a brand new stadium. Warrington are a classic example of what can be achieved with a new home, but of course this has to be coupled with good management & good marketing of the club. The thing is, given that Wakefield are managing much improved attendances with a poor start on the field then they are already getting some of this very right and with the both the weather improving and the big gate of Leeds Rhinos still to come, I think they look set for an average of 8000 + for the season even in a ageing but slightly improved Belle Vue.
Wakefield & Warrington are very similar demographically speaking and that is why most people behind this project don't think it is fantasy to both plan & achieve an average crowd of circa 10,000 in the new Stadium. The year before Warrington moved from Wilderspool their crowd average was in the 6000's, so Wakefield already have a circa 2000 start on them!
As for the jobs then the B8 & associated development will bring somewhere between 1500 & 2000 permanent full time equivalent jobs over the next 10 years, along with around 500 construction jobs over the same period. An independent planning process recommended that Wakefield plan for 95ha of additional B8 development land on the M62 (in Wakefield, not Leeds BTW) and the Newmarket development is being used for 51ha of the land requirement. It is rumoured that Yorkcourt have at least one and possibly two tenants waiting to sign on the dotted line for the two biggest units on the site. Wakefield College are also hoping to relocate their sports, leisure, catering & tourism students to the site (this proposed deal was not in place prior to the original planning application) & with this will come even more investment and also further improved and much needed community sports facilities. If the college come on board (and if planning is granted it looks almost certain they will) then the full size flood-lit 4G & grass training pitches will be added to with full indoor facilities building. This will include a full size sports hall, large fitness suite, dance studios etc as well as the lecturing and catering training kitchen facilities for the college. This is likely to lead to more jobs being created and also deliver the community sporting facilities the Wakefield district needs for it's populace.
It may have been a "genuine question" but it has made you look rather bitter and troll like! What do you think of the answer?

| Good repost IA.
Isnt it amazing that people only take on info they like to hear.
How can any so called fan of the game be so ill informed as to the progress being made and plans afoot. In League Express today , on the letters page, some one referred to our average gate as around 6000.
These ill informed negative assumptions really do harm us.
We need to be shouting from the rooftops all things positive.
