So far off the mark with this one that you are probably in Brazil. He was already way better than most in his position before he left and his team in oz were reluctant to let him go. Aussie clubs are no mugs when they bought GE they new they were getting a good player. Not many of there players are player of the year in consecutive years for their club. GE is world class and will still be for next 3 years at least.

Gaz Ellis is still a class act and because of that he won't be anywhere near here soon. The top clubs are falling over themselves trying to sign him.

I agree that he aint coming to BV, but there is no doubt that he is one of the top second rowers in world RL.
He is likely to go to Leeds, Warrington or maybe Hull (if Mr Gentle has them performing), perhaps followed by one last season with Cas ?

Can't really see him being bothered about a final season in the championship.

Whilst I don’t deny G.E has been a class act for the last eight years or so, I’m still of the opinion that his best years are behind him, when he hits blighty next season.

He’s won the rings, he’s played in the best competition in the world, however, only time will tell as to how he goes in his ‘twilight’ years, remember opinions are subjective.

I doubt Ellis will be ripping it up in Super League, his body will be shot after this season. For the wages that he will be after we would be better off out of it. I'm sure he will do a good job for whoever he plays for, but can't see it being us.

He has shown no signs of a drop in form or anything but a world class attitude to RL, you wouldn't have him in the team before the SRowers we have now ? If there is any possibility that he would come back to Belle Vue, Glover And Agar should be pulling out all the stops to capture his signature. Without doubt.

I'd have him at Wakey anytime and he would be somewhat better than what we currently have.
Even if his form dips slightly in a couple of seasons, he will still be a top player.

That is all good and well, but the price tag will be far to heavy to warrant his signing. His agent has already said that virtually every SL club has expressed an interest.

He will be after a 2/3 year deal on 150k (minimum) a year I reckon, a decent signing fee, a club with a chance of winning a trophy, with top notch training facilities and stadium. Just my two pence worth.

G.E is a class act, but, he will probably demanding more money than we pay our entire pack.

I just don’t think, as a club, we have the kudos or the cash to get him here, also, if I was the owner/coach I would be looking at marquee players in other positions than 2nd row.

Gareth Ellis has the kind of respect, hard earned in RL, that is reserved for players like Morley and, one day, Graham. He is well thought of throughout the RL world.

IMO he is worth more to a side like us, Hull or Huddersfield, than he would be to Wigan and Leeds. He has nothing to prove, nor do those clubs need him to bring kudos to their club.

If I were Gareth I would look at Hull seriously. They have the support base and they now have the management and, seemingly, the money to make the next step up. What could be better than to join a club that is about to become established as a leading side (I know they're not quite there yet), and to play a part in helping them make that leap forward.

Morley's arrival at Wire had a similar effect there. Who would not want players like that playing alongside them - he's been there, done that and got several bloodied T-shirts to show it. It must make recruitment that much easier!

Whilst Gareth remains curretly one of the worlds best, he won't be for the whole of a 3-year period and I don't think anyone is daft enough to think that, but he will remain quality, provided he remains healthy, and, in addition to his playing ability, I would sign him for the club - to try and give us that 'Morley' effect.

We have made approaches, and whilst I would consider us outsiders, we do have history with him and we do have plenty of room in our salary cap, so I ai't giving up on him yet.

Throw the lot at him - and the kitchen sink, the bathroom and the windows. The man is a winner - and we won't have many players of that ilk that come around who we have a connection with.

WTW won't sign G.E. as they don't have the money or desire to blow a budget and get a 7th second rower to the squad.

G.E. wants to win more trophies but will also want a 3 year lucrative contract so will go for a top 6 club that can offer both opportunities.

I'd rather see them spend money on someone like Roy Asotasi for prop and Michael 'Flash' Gordon to kick for next season!

Well I don't think he will come to WT just as much as I don't think he will go to Cas', he's been here done that -we're not likely to be troubling the top 8 this year and Cas are, well would you go there?
I think he will want to go out with a bang and that won't be at Wakefield or Cas'
