A groundshare is a non-starter either at Newmarket or glasshoughton. Neither clubs fans want it and whoever was the perceived 'away' side would wither away and die. Put it this way from my personal point of view if it was a choice of either watch wakey at GH or watch no rugby, then no rugby it would be. Doubt i'd be alone either and many cas fans would feel the same at NM.

As for time frames I think he is unwilling to comment because it remains possible that things outside the clubs control (and others control) could still change that BUT, we are hearing that the public hearings have been tacitly scheduled for later this year (and normally a decision comes three to four months following this) and also the LDF is scheduled to be completed to be ratified and approved by the full council in March 2012. The LDF is on quite a defined and reasonably rigid time line and the chances of this being delayed more than a couple of months, never mind a long time beyond this are very slim. The chances are by March/April 2012 the future of Newmarket will be known... of course, we can't say with any certainty what the outcome of both process will be yet and that is the of course the £20m question!

I have a feeling the club in Wakefield that we have looked into sharing with is Dewsbury as their ground could be easily made into SL standard by putting a tempary stand at each end.

I'll just issue a general warning, that way i can remove anyone i consider trolling without messing about.

So what you are saying is that its going to be at least a full 12 months from now before we know whether Newmarket is going to happen or not. And even then theres a good chance that it will get kicked into touch. Think its about time we looked at some alternative locations again, maybe put a groundshare with Ossett town back on the agenda? A lot of people within the building industry think that NM could get rejected in its current form so we may need alternative sites looking at again. Or is it a case of NM or nowhere?

Newmarket is where the money is, without that then I don’t think Andrew Glover has the funds to build a stadium meaning the alternatives are pretty slim.

How far are Cas actually on with their stadium? It would be stupid to pass up on an offer to groundshare until we get our own house in order. Saints have done it why can't we?

GH isn't going to be ready till at least 2013. So what is exactly there to share. NM may have received permission by then and we could end up with both ground being constructed at the same time.

Other than obtaining planning permission, no farther forward than they were 3/4 years ago.

Best look at your map Dewsbury's ground is not in wakefield. But it nearly is.

I said a while ago that wakefield could go to Dewsbury but I was there a few weeks ago and you could only put a temp stand up at the scoreboard end. And you would also need extra turnstyles and toilets.

The other end is massive but it dips downhill.

I can't see anything going on with Ossett town they are due to go down at the end of the season so will see a massive fall in gates.

Why no mention of the "Oakwell" option in the statement?
