| Quote ="gostrider"Having seen the latest statement by the RFL that KR seem to have agreed a special agreement to re-register Dobson, despite going against the RFL's own rules - should fans of all clubs (obviously except Rovers) not be requesting their club and directly to the RFL that this should not be permitted. The RFL law states that the rule is there to stop clubs stock piling overseas players and then cherry picking who plays on a weekly basis, yet in affect this is what Hull KR are doing. Seems to me they are not bending rules but shattering them - they already took the mickey by getting special dispensation to sign Mason on a Tongan passport (Blocking clubs such as Huddersfield / Salford who had a genuine quota space). Surely registering Mason to the RFL while keeping Dobson's contract should mean Hull KR have exceeded quota regulations and should not have been allowed to go ahead. If they are allowed to get away with this our game will desend into a farce. Why dont Wigan terminate Fieldens contract - sign a prop - Ewan Dowes for example - using Fieldens space on the cap, then simply when Fielden is fit, re-register and send Dowes back. (Fielden then gets paid for painting the chairmans fence while out of the game each month)
Dobson seems to be a topic on most fans forums - each agreeing he's a player that they would like at their club (me included) - what I want to see is each fan and each club not wanting to see Dobson in a KR shirt again this season (as the rules) and our games so called governors enforce the rules they create.
Failing that I urge Hull FC sign Greg inglis because I heard he drank a pint of Guiness once. Apparently he only needs £20,000 a year as his wife as a £300,000 a year cleaning job.
e-mail the RFL, e-mail your clubs - this must be blocked.
Thank you'"
Says a fan of "Gateshull Thunder Sharks FC"
I love these bitter posts - makes my day!!!

| Keep the sniping on your boards.
This is a WT board!
As far as MD goes I can't see him playing at HKR again this season & if he gets a better offer he could go for good. Which could be karma for the way they appear to be running against the rules, but these are hard times for most clubs tbf.
AG has the money, this would be a massive statement of intent.

Yes it may be up to 2 months before he's fit but he's class.
If we take the usual option and buy someone from the lower grades they take time to get up to speed anyway- usually around 2 months!
Nobody in SL will have space in terms of quota spots and cap- We do!!
Just what the doctor ordered! He would offer what we need on the pitch and would excite fans- new and old!
GET ON THIS MR GLOVER PLEASE!!!!'" I agree we could look into this as he is a =#FF0000 FREE AGENT no good beating around the bush get in there

| This is fantasy land - all of the statements that are being made are designed to demonstrate that HKR and the RFL are following the correct procedures, and are for the benefit of the outside world; there'll be some kind of compromise agreement in place with Dobson, that stops him from signing for anyone else and no doubt, he's being paid as a consultant or some similar arrangement whilst deregistered.
The RFL are complicit in HKR's shameless rule-bending, to accommodate another big name Aussie has-been, because they think it will attract interest in the sport. It's all a bit embarassing.

| He may well be a free-agent but he doesn't have to sign for someone else if he doesn't want to and then, when he's fit again, I'm sure the RFL will sanction his re-registration.

But if someone else came in with a better offer.... Who will HKR blame then?? Us? The RFL? Or they could just blame the monitory system itself (-this sort of thing wouldn't happen in a resource based economy! )

| I'm sorry but why would MD want to leave a club with genuine play off and cup ambitions for a club who many see as the ones to get tge chop cone tge end of this season? I really cannot see anyone of any real quality wanting to join us this season. Unfortunately they are the plain and simple but hard to swallow facts. People need to get back in to the real world

Personally I think you've forgotten what makes the world go round.
Something we had in short supply before but have in abundance now. MONEY.
If MD could get say £1000 pw more from us until the end of the season then why not? With a season based round him he could demand the same sort of money from another club next year (should we not be here).
Besides a short game of "musical chairs" (say a move to us- followed by a move to say Wire in 2012) would provide in reality 2 pay days for him (& his agent). And we all know how big a force agents can be in the modern game.

| I'm sorry but money isn't everything. Look at Ellis, apparently we offered him more than Leeds but he went to better himself. What could md achieve behind a workmanlike but beaten pack every week? He could quite possibly devalue himself!

Perhaps by the time he was fit, we may have stregthened our pack aswell?
Pointless having a player like that playing behind our current hardworking but inafective pack.

Quite possibly however we have to be realistic and realise the position we are in. Let's say we offered md a hypothetical £1500 a week then say Wigan came in with a bid of £1200 who do you think he would choose?

| Didn't we do the same with jd? Can't see the problem with it really. They did this in order to get him to debut at home and cash in on it. Forward thinking really. If masons Tongan passport never materialises then maybe they will have problems and they'd have to release another overseas player in order to reregister dobson

It stinks. Why the rule changes for certain clubs?First a rule change about applying for a franchise when been in admin(to suit crusaders),now this, but yet the RFL will quite happily see us sail down the river never to be seen again.
What a load of b******s.
