In fairness to Jonathan he had poured millions into the racing team and he was'nt the only team owner to feel the pinch and pull out that season or the season after.

I know he's been bankrupt in the past but so has Richard Branson and Alan Sugar, credit to him for getting back on his feet and putting himself in a position where he could bid for a SL team.

Re his dealings with gypsies etc, the walk in scrap business is only a tiny part of his empire. Most of his dealings are with brokering metal from South America etc that he never actually handles, so while it is hardly unexpected that the scrap trade walk in business there are a few undesirables/small time criminals involved in that area, Jonathan rarely gets his hands dirty with that side of the business.

Having said that Mr Parkin does sound like an ideal candidate, but if others like Jonathan France are also hoping to invest, the proposition the club is in at the moment it could well help to have several backers in place to spread the risk of the potential job certainly in the short term.
