I agree with everything said about him. We need him on a long contract, and I hope we get him signed up soon. Definitely more important than signing Atkins and Grix, together. If he carries on like he is doing at the moment then he'd be the natural choice for captain after JD.

SO was quality on Friday, both attacking and in defence. Morley targeted him several times.............with no joy whatsoever

i'll second that mate, couldn't think of a better candidate myself.

Obsty is a genuine crowd pleaser, for his guts, his pace, his energy and trickery. A real top player that sadly, so many alleged experts tend to overlook.

Give him a new deal, the lad deserves one!

Obst has been patchy this season and was poor towards the middle. Its good to see that he has played well last handfull of games but a handfull of games doesn't make a season.

If he can perform like he has been last few games majority of season sign him up however i think he needs to be more consistent throughout SL season.

Here's hoping he doesn't go near Hooker again 2!. He's ok as bac-up though.

I wouldn't be dissapointed if he left as i think he could be replaced and should he stay then again i wont be dissappointed.

That he has performed at all this season tells you something about the quality of the man. I can't believe you can criticise his performances at all this season given what he has been through.

Agreed Sams had a rough year and he's played well and given his all for us.

imo the lad has been emmense, not just what he has been through. i have never seen his head go down, only to tackle. the guy would make a great captain . he epitamizes all that is good at wakefield. if anything i think he has been one of our most consistant players of the last 4 years and has had very few injuries. when trojan horse says " don't let him near hooker" totally disagree. sam is a great hooker and also pretty good at 6. probably one of the fittest and fastest guys we have got, especially round the hook. i know he has been offered a new deal and i really hope he stays with us. out of all the team, he is the one i would like to see take jd's place when he leaves.
