hypothetically where do you think the club stand on this then VM? whereas there was criticism when we let jeffries go (groundless imo) for nothing we knew we were signing brough so it suited us to get him off the cap.
this case may be slightly different in that we may not want him to leave and have no replacement as good as him or at least as proven as him lined up.

Just keep your fingers crossed that while Danny's future is undecided that he doesn't take his bat and ball home and his performances dip as has happened in the past. Wakey need to make him a decent offer now so he will keep focused on the season.

To be honest I don't think it's money, more a mutual separation if what I hear is to be believed. So if Danny wants to get what he wants even he realises he needs to shine as a pro.

TBF Brough is great and I'd love him to stay but he isn't really a one club player. I think he has a shelf life at all the clubs he joins, his personality simply doesn't lend itself to long term employment. That's how I read it.

Gutted if true. One of the few real quality signings we have made who I am confident would get in most superleague teams.

Let's be realistic about this. We have some players in our team that are top class, and some of them are potentially world class. These guys are on fixed term contracts, so it's only to be expected that 'bigger' clubs will be after them. Our only chance of keeping them is if the bigger clubs don't want to pay them substantially more than we do - whether this be due to cap constraints or whatever - and the players decide that the little bit of extra money is not worth leaving the joyful family atmosphere at BV for.

This is how we lost Peter Fox, and how we may lose others who are much better than Foxie. Good luck to them, I say (except when they're playing against us!). We're getting our monies worth out of them now, and every one of them is entitled to a say in their career. I just hope they don't get their heads turned by greedy agents.

We have got the potential to be a really good team, to do that we need to keep good players, and part of that is competing with other clubs financially. Less than 5000 against Catalans may not cut it much longer!

and as many have said, its a short career and frankly he isnt going in to merchant banking after he retires
