| Big up to stanley under 12 s thought they played really well . Obviously as losing team we felt ref did us no favours ie first try came on seventh tackle , second try winger put foot in touch . third try knock on/ offside but hey, we lost . All of these points are proven by the match dvd and the ref was being assessed by the refs controller . The assessor was not entirely happy with the decisions and asked for a copy of the dvd , which i declined to give him believing he should be assessed in real time not scrutinised on video. Good luck to stanley in final , you were best team today, and roll on decider at your place its one each now and both losing teams feel ref was against them. is there a pattern here .

it wasn't only you that thought the ref got the tackle count wrong in the game as it happened in your possesion in first half and that came from a professional body and that wasn't Ben Thaler,
my lad got over the try line before the first try was scored only for it to be called held up before the line, I wasn't in a good position to see but was told from someone that was that he thought that he had grounded it which was confirmed by my lad after the match that he felt he was lifted after the grounding and pushed back but was told by the same PB that he thought it wasn't a try and that he thought it was short, I hold very high regard for the said person so except his decision,
I thought both teams held very cool heads bearing in mind its the parents from both side that are more verbal and would like to thank you for the good luck in the final,
as for the refs that are learning the game, do you not think that we should be a little more understanding as parents ? I do, I would be more than welcome to veiw your dvd and put my aspect of the game if you like
when you do come for the return league game I hope you give the raffle ticket seller a warm welcome as it tends to be me
I have said before thank your post and invite you to bring more to the local rugby thread for your club as it expands the game from the lower levels of rugby league which we all love

Well Stanley under 13's won 42 to nil against Normy yesterday in the cup, and the ref was very strange in some calls and imho felt sorry for the losing side. The penalty count was 16 to Normy and 1 to Stanley, refs make some good calls and some bad, but 16 to 1 yesterday was a joke, Stanley got cained, but their ability shone on the day. I also watched the first half of the 12's game, and one try in the bottom left corner by Stanley was a clear cut try, I was 10 feet away from it, did your video evidence pick that up ??

| Wakefield City smashed Fetherstone Lions with a 40-18 victory. City seem to be finally running into some form after a shocking start to the year under the guidance of Wakefield Legend Jonny Thompson.

'" yes stanley did win 42-0 but they should have done really. the top of the first division playing against a second division team that played with 12 men for 20 mins no fault :: of stanley's i hasten to add. the game was played in a good spirit by both teams. as far as the ref is concerned, think he did a decent job. most of the penalties stanley incurred were deserved and to the players credit, didn't see any of them whinging or moaning at the referee. they played some great rugby and got on with it unlike the coaches that constantly whinged at the ref. maybe they should follow the players example. both sides dicipline was outstanding.

| Stanley Rangers u 10's 20 v 10 Stanningley u 10's
Was extremly pleased to get back to winning ways, but it was the performance more than anything that pleased me most. I asked the boys for a response to our last performance, and I got exactly what I wanted and tbf if I was a lot harsher with subs etc dont think they would have managed the 10 points they did get. They will defo look to bounce back against the Panthers next week, and im sure it will be a cracker

was an enjoyable match 0-0 for the first 1/4 and got away with a couple of minor indiscretions as did stanningley. as for the subs issue although the team performed admirably some must not get to reliant on the same 6/7 players putting in the big tackles. So rotating the team will do the team good
thought your Jake had his best game of the season so far

yeah pretty pleased myself with how hes going this year he seems to have a new appetite for the game.
got to mention my other lad though in the under 8s, man of the match twice top tackler and most improved as well as parents man of the match all in November rounding it off with his first ever try this weekend which was right out of Ste's book as he took 6 players over with him. thought id put it up here as reports have stopped going in the wakey express for the under 8

i think they have just lost the once which was a close game with crigglestone, think there might be some changes to the league in the new year.
dewsbury celtic and drighlington are the two that spring to mind that could do with having a easier time.
did you get sorted out for the scarborough festival ?

Played them about a month ago and to be honest we weren't at our best but won it late on . They seem to have been in the same boat as us - winning easily most weeks- which will probably mean a big step up though after christmas (providing yarl see sense!)

kirklees council have cancelled all games in the district for the third week running, this is one reason why juniors should not be playing at this time of year.
cas panthers u10s travel to stanningley u10s 10.30 for what will more than likely be our last game of the calander year unless the weather picks up and our pitch improves.
tomorrow will be a massive test for us but one which we are looking forward to.

my thoughts entirely , only in RL could we try to tempt children to take up our sport and then play at a complete different time from the pro game .
for mine the season should run from march to September with weather permitting friendlies randomly played during closed season.

the only ones to suffer is the parents that don't shower off after the game I've got well prepared now for days like this after that game against West Bowling where we was that soaked we couldn't of got any wetter

| Crigg u10's away at oulton tomorrow , only confirmed about 3.30 this afternoon . Can't really see a problem with the pitches as they are , nowt wrong with a bit of mud ! Trouble is at training - who enjoys a 1 degree training session on a Tuesday night this time of year ? But come the summer the pitches are harder than the frosty ones that get called off. Think it's probably about right , unless watering pitches isn't a problem in June /July/august.
I know which I prefer when watching!

would we get anymore players if we changed to summer rugby? it might fetch a few more into the the game but I don't think its the winter weather that keeps them away as kids also play football through these months so maybe its that they choose to play football first, another possibility that playing at different times of the year stops the times that games play at the same time that can happen at open age, this allows them so they can support their clubs
