Whats the point of this comment? If you want to dispute the validity of the reasons a number of us are questioning Kears recruitment policy and team selection then please do so, with a reasoned argument (and preferably not the old chestnuts of ....

I agree in a way however he'll have had a budget to work with and not a very big one at that hence signings like smith and Tony who couldn't get a gig anywhere else. If we are to be even remotely competitive then we need to spend some cash

As far as I'm aware he has money to spend, but who's going to sign and who's even available.

But thats the problem, I don't think they are true.

We are running with a young squad and Kear has not got a great track record with handling young players development. He's had his "one-off" backs to the wall cup final appearance away at Catalans, his track record last season with a stronger squad was woeful as well. My view is we have nothing to lose by bringing someone new in because there will be no pressure on them to get results and if they can get us to play more attractive rugby, then it might be more bearable to watch and we might actually suprise a few teams.

5 drives and a kick with the smallest pack in the league is not the right tactics.

He may have limited money, but he will have known what that budget was and would have been better trusting some of the clubs own youngsters to fill gaps in the squad and spent more money on players that can play in the positions we are lacking in.

How do you know he's not been asked and turned us down, that's the problem, you don't know what players have turned us down and what coaches have turned us down.

We were signing a prop from Australia werent we? because of one thing and another and another.. we havent managed to, how do you know who was available and who would come??

Keep getting in their 20 with tackles in hand and take a poor kick option on the 3rd or 4th tackle after three one out passes and then the receiver driving it in with very few offloads

My point is that we need at least one half back and at least one prop. We signed Harvey on loan and then don't play him.

It seems to me that we could have signed players who play in the positions we are short in even if they were young players needing some first team experience because their pathway at their own club is blocked by better players, or players who would be willing to take a 1 year contract to put themselves in the shop window for a SL contract be it with us or someone else.

Who could argue that JK has had the most difficult job in super league this year? Iestyn Harris at the Crusaders went into adminstration but still signed players and kept nearly all of them! John Kear has all this to deal with and yet still stays positive! cut him some slack..

JD was complaining about recruitment problems at the back end of last year, because we are favourites for the drop and so players couldn't see beyond one year. The financial woes have added to that, but I get the impression that no one of any quality wants to come to us, and didn't last year either.
