| First experience of watching Wakefield was my Dad taking me for the last 15 minutes of a match in the mid/late 80s when you could just walk in the open gates 15 minutes from the end. He didn't take me for the whole game as it would have been a waste of his money had I not enjoyed it!
The 'stewards to exits' call which later explained the freebie last 15 minutes.
My dad taking me to watch the training evenings on Thursdays:
Playing Jimmy Cricket at pool one Thursday evening when the club was Corrigan's.
Running round the field during an actual training session and passing the ball with Kevin Harcombe.
Getting some life tips from the legendary Ray Price.
Tracey Lazenby heading a high bomb.
Being the first person to ever ask for Chris Perry's autograph when he came over from Oz. He was so shocked, he had to ask my dad if I was joking!
The woman in the long blue coat ''Come ooooon Trinitaaaaay!''
Ronnie Gibbs getting knocked out and staggering all over the field like Bambi.
Did John Glancy ever score a try?
Andy Mason's solo warm-ups.
Andy Wilson getting his ball bag ripped!
One supporter shouting on during a game against Leeds ''make the ba$tard$ bleeeeed!''.
Our second half displays in the 2004 season at fortress Belle Vue. You just knew we were going to win.
The million pound game against Cas. It was never in doubt, I was more nervous at Odsal the week before!

| My first ever memory of Belle Vue was of sliding down the handrail on the steps behind the South stand and my dad telling me off for it!
Amongst the many other things I've done at the club, I built all the internal walls of the new dressing rooms under the Coach house. I was ably assisted by Richard Pell who has just got the Gateshead job, he did the labouring I did the skillfull bit, twas ever thus!

| Watching the great players of the past - Neil Fox, 'Rocky' Turner, John Wilkinson, Harold Poynton, Gert Coetzer, And Mason, Mike Lampkowski, Andy Mason, George Ballantyne, Wally Lewis.
As a youngester walking with my dad under the West stand and seeing the bar packed with old men smoking pipes.
Watching the players leave the dressing rooms in St. Catherine's School and running across the yard to get to the pitch.
Having to queue at the turnstiles for over 30 mins to get into the ground.
Listening to my aunt telling the story of when she was an extra in the ground when they filmed This Sporting Life.

| Wakey Vs Australia
The drubbing of Highfield (the only time I've thought we might get triple figures) including 13 goals for Mark Conway.
and last but certainly not least....
Watching Karl Kirkpatrick get chased off the pitch by an "angry mob"

| In no particular order
Bill Ashurst scoring V Bradford Agbrigg Rd end with a chip over the top from 20 meters out re gathering on the full and swan diving under the posts.
Geoff Bagnall on his A team debut putting his team mate away with a behind the back pass Cats bar corner (I knew from that moment he could play).
Getting a bag of chips on the way home from Chippy Woods.
Alan Hunte scoring a length of the field try for our A team before signing for Saints (not a bad decision considering).
The dummy by John Wells that led to his try against Saints/Wigan (not sure which) 5000 people took it.
Million Pound Game what a night.
Game against Australia it was pouring down.
Game against Widnes in the fog and queuing up at the old shop for a replay voucher.
Stewards to exits.
That Co mon Trinity woman.
The Saints game the week after the death of Leon Walker and the moments before kick off.
The Wigan game start of 87 season (ish) Julian Russell winning try. We went bonkers. I have never known BV so full. Oh and the hammering they gave us a few years earlier under Trevor Bailey.
Top six season under McNally. We used to blow teams away in the last 30 minutes.
Standing alongside the old tunnel and seeing Wally Lewis run out along side Peter Sterling both making their debuts (we lost).
The bar under the old stand and the radio broardcasting box in front of it.
Running on the pitch asking for Toppo’s tie ups.
The famous “we like it hard” Tommo comment on Boot’s and All.
I’m sure I well think of some more!

| Favorite memories, because they've both long since passed away, are of going to games with my dad and auntie:
The steward at our block of the east stand, who knew everyone by name, except me.
Mint Imperials at half time.
Missing nearly all the tries in the corner of the east stand because I was too small to see past the grown-ups when they got out of their seats.
Getting dirty looks from the WAGS (Mrs Topliss and Mrs Morgan in particular) and a clip round the lug 'ole from the old man when I called the ref a blind get.
Eddie Waring tapping on the glass pane of the press box and telling me to "watch the game", after I'd spent most of the second half of a game against Dewsbury watching him write his match report (Dewsbury then were Huddersfield now - we couldn't buy a win, and were getting gubbed on this particular occasion too).
Watching the players troop down the tunnel to the old changing rooms.
The smell of cigars on Boxing Day.
and, and , and...
I'm wellin up here

| Dependent on work contracts for next year the next game against Warrington could well be my last visit to Belle Vue (and first this season).
Lots of good memories, many already mentioned.
Used to go with my great uncle (early '80s?) and after head had a pint under the west stand and watching the performance he'd shout "You're bloody rubbish Wakefield, Come on Dewsbury" (or insert current opposition)
Earliest memory, maybe the gridiron exhibition game by the US army? what year was that? seeing the pitch marked out not dissimilar to how it is now was strange and trying to understand the game and scoring. Or have I made all that up?
Used to go in the north stand when I first taken by my dad. When was it knocked down?

| Some cracking examples there. This old dump will not only be in my memory but also in my heart forever. I know it's a needs must situation but it's so wrong we've been forced to move, hopefully though the move will help wake the sleeping giant that is Wakefield trinity.
Some more memories not already mentioned:
Challenge cup v hunslet nick du toit head butt
Any one of Michael Jacksons barnstorming breaks. Only domic has come anywhere near to running as good a line
Solomonas magic. What a privilege it was to watch him
Poching see above
Johnny Ts involvement in just about every day since year dot whether it be as a player or water carrier. The mans name should be in the dictionary under the word stalwart
The academy grand final last season
The stench of wintergreen during winter seasons. Always seemed more pungent on evening games
The 1998 promotion season
I could go on forever!

| If NM happens, it would be a nice project to use some of these memories to create a permanent reminder of BV somewhere in the new facilities; perhaps a pictorial representation of the clubs journey over the years, with relevant quotes from fans and players of each era.

| as a kid watching the players coming from the old dressing rooms(where club shop is now) and dissapearing down the tunnel the smell of wintergreen on the players!!
Knocking 10 bells out of the aussie touring team midweek before they played GB sure the RFL did it on purpose. (Still got the programme)
Ray Price turning to look at the sticks when any team kicked a penalty , Poised waiting for the rebound!!
Matt fuller knocking 10 bells out of Stanley Gene in the play off semi final paving the way to Super League(Gene beat us single handed in previous 2 games)

| Quote ="Uptoncat"Remember that day well sandal. =#FF0040Can you also remember the bins being thrown at our players for daring to beat hull kr that day? Us and kr were the two top teams in the league and they beat us twice but we won the one that mattered and it seemed to knock the stuffing out of them. Credit to them they got it back on track and look where they are today.
Many fond memories of belle vue but one that sticks in the mind doesn't even involve wakey. It was an amateur final and a streaker ran across the pitch jumped the wall, clipped it and landed flat on his face. The crowd (prob bigger than crus yesterday!) oohed and gasped in unison'"
And the cheerleaders, my daughter copped one...

1962 and as a kid looking at all the double decker buses parked outside the ground at the final whistle and wondering where "duplicate" was. Cos that's what they had on the destination sign.
The long corridor to the sit down bog in the old west stand. I never could manage a pee due to the long que behind. (Ladies...it's a man thing )

Nope! That was my first ever visit to Belle Vue also. To me on that occasion Belle Vue was like Wembley Stadium. I have never had goosepimples like it since as I made my way up from the North Terrace entrance and saw the pitch for the first time. I seem to remember the ticket cost 50p so probably 1971?
